Just a brief rambling thought from an old-timer here...

I stopped by the XW's office today to drop off some mail and money for d's summer clothes. We had a nice little chat about trivial things, when I noticed the ring on her finger.

I asked her about it, and it turns out she's been engaged to her BF since February.

Funny thing is, I felt nothing one way or another! I didn't feel the urge to make some snide remark, I didn't feel angry or upset...I felt nothing at all.

Pretty strange stuff...

What's so amazing about stories like that is that the WS, who in all probability told you she didn't respect M, "never wanted 2 be M'd", and all, is now "doing it."

Trying 2 figure that out just hurts the haid, though, so I don't!

My XW is engagued too. Here is the funny part. Me and my GF anounced our engaugement on a Monday. She anounced hers the following Wednesday with a disclaimer that they have been planning it way before me. Personally I think it is funny because that dude is in for a rude awakening. He will find out his princess is no princess...

I didn't feel much when I found out my x was getting married, either.

A few years down the road, I think I'm lucky. He's been a little nicer since they got married. She loves my children. I could, actually, be her friend if she weren't married to my x.

Almost! When we got married, she swore up and down she would only be getting married once. When she started the A, she swore she'd only get married "just one more time."

Now, she claims she really isn't that big on marriage...she just wanted the ring.

Well, it isn't the same thing, but my X went out and bought a new car just a couple of weeks after I'd bought mine.

Cinderella:

Yes, lately we've been able to actually get along, but her BF still avoids me like the plague! I really don't have a problem with him...seems like a stand-up guy and all (he's not the OM), but for some reason he doesn't even want to meet me.

Maybe he doesn't want to hear what I have to say about his future wife!

I have to say that I feel the pretty much the same way. My XH is marrying the OW in less than a month. Although at one time I wanted nothing more than to rip her eyes out, now had she not been the OW and made her bed, I would actually feel sorry for her because her prince charming is nothing more than a slimy frog!

My BF offered to take me away the weekend that my XH is getting married to keep my mind off of it, but I really don't need it. It's almost a relief to have him legally belong to someone else!

Take care and God bless!
