God Controls Your Circumstances!!

1 Chronicles 29:10-12

As human beings we like to think and believe that we are in control of
things that happen in our home and family. But the fact is there are
many things that are beyond our control. You and I cannot control
everything that happens to us in our home. As a result many of us are
living in a state of fear and insecurity. I hope after you have read
today's devotional you will be convinced that God is still in control
of your circumstances. Whatever you are going through did not catch
God by surprise.

Your situation may seem as if God cannot or will not do anything. You
may feel as if it's too far gone and no one can help at this point.
You may have tried to seek assistance from all your friends and
family, without first seeking the Lord for His help. There is One
that we can count on, and that is God. You and I can count on God; we
can trust God to keep His word. GOD IS IN CONTROL!!

1 Chronicles 29:11 "Everything in the heavens and the earth is Yours,
O Lord. We adore You as being in control of everything."

The Bible calls this God's sovereignty. That means He is the absolute
authority in life. He's the ultimate Ruler. He is in charge and He is
in control. The Bible teaches us that God is in control of the world.
He created the world and all that is in it. He sustains this world by
the power of His Word.

Genesis 50: 20 "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God
meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much
people alive."

Romans 8: 28 And we know that all things work together for good to
them that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose.

Life is not a series of random events, with no meaning, or accidents
that just come and go. Life has a meaning. Life has a purpose. If you
are a believer, nothing comes into your life without the Heavenly
Father's permission. Every thing that happens in your life, even the
bad, is Father-filtered. It can't come into your life without
permission. Your problems have a purpose.

I am not saying that everything that happens to you is God's will.
That is not true. God's will is not always done on earth. That's why
we pray, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." I'm not
saying that God causes everything. He doesn't. God does not cause your
problems. He doesn't have to. But He does permit them. And He does use
them for good in your life, in the grand design and greater scheme of
things if we cooperate with His plan, if we trust Him. If we maintain
the right attitude through the trials and tribulations that we go
through God will work all things out to our good, our eternal good.

God will use your problem to get you in the position that He wants you
in. God will use your problem to get you to the place that He has
designed you for and designed for you. Our problems are opportunities
to see God's power work on our behalf.

1 Peter 1:6-7 "At present you may be temporarily harassed with all
kinds of trials. This is no accident. It happens to prove your faith
which is infinitely more valuable than gold."

Peter is saying that the trials and troubles that we are going through
are not accidents. They are Divine appointments arranged by God to
prove the quality, character and strength of our faith.

Joseph said, "You meant it for bad but God meant it for good." His
brothers cheated him. His brothers mistreated him. His brothers sold
him into slavery. He ended up being accused falsely of rape and thrown
into prison for a crime he didn't commit. All kinds of bad things
happen to Joseph. But God was working in it. He ends up second in
command in Egypt and he saves his country and he saves Egypt, too. And
he says to his brothers, later, "You meant it for bad but God meant it
for good."

So what is the key to your response to this situation in your home? If
you know God's in control and He has a Plan for your life and He has a
purpose for your problems, what is your response?

2 Corinthians 4 "This is the reason we never lose heart [we never get
discouraged, we don't give up]. These troubles which are temporary are
winning for us a permanent, glorious and solid reward all out of
proportion to our pain."

The correct response to the problems we are going through at this
present time, is to look past the pain to see God's ultimate purpose.

Prayers have an impact because God is in control. That's the basis of
all miracles - God's sovereignty. If He wants to overrule nature, He
can. If He wants to overrule a human law, He can. If He wants to
overrule a government, He can. He can do whatever He wants to do.

We need to acknowledge His control over our lives. Don't fight it,
don't run from it, and don't resist it. Accept it. Cooperate with it.
Be grateful for it. Enjoy the blessing of it. Thank God for it. In His
control, nothing can devastate you. Your spouse or this other person
cannot come against you unless God allows it. If you are threatened
with divorce, the Judge or your spouse's attorney cannot come against
you, and CANNOT win, unless the Lord allows. Nothing that happen to
you and can devastate you, if you're trusting in the One who controls
it all.

Allow the Lord to control the uncontrollable and stop worrying about
it. Some of us spend a lot of time worrying about things that we have
no control over when we should be talking to the One who is in control
of all things, including your current situation. Learn to Trust God
and have sweet sleep while you wait with peace, with confidence, and
with hope.
