My husband is not a cook. He can make a mean sandwich... boxed mac and cheese or maybe grill a hamburger; but is intimidated by anything needing a recipe or more than 1 pan.

However! We have found an intimacy in preparing the food together.

We found that working together side by side in the kitchen once in a while was really fun. This works best when you have a lot of 'prep work for your meal (like oriental style foods that need a lot of veggies chopped).

Plan a meal and then plan out who does what. Work together in the kitchen to make the meal, then while one is finishing up the cooking, the other can set the table. Add some candles... even if it's a "family" dinner (we have three kids). Somehow working together, laughing together while we made the meal made the food taste even better.
