I think it would be fun for couples to sit down and make cards for those in their families when birthdays rolled around. I was thinking about this last night as my husband and I shopped for birthday cards for his sister and grandmother. It would have been much more fun to sit down together and make them a card rather than just buying them one - and much cheaper!

Home made cards rock. I make all of my cards....buying them is cool for quick occasions but recently, my BF put up all the creative cards I had made over time and decorated the apt. with them to show me he knew i was sorry...I was the WS. This surprised me so much. For his last birthday, I made a huge card with pics of celebrities from 1974, the year he was born...highlighted the songs of that year and the best part were all of the signatures included, over 20 of his friends. It was fantastic. I heard so many people go, Wow, I wish someone would do that for me. That is amazing. So, i suggest you go for it!
