Hi
a long time ago my H was checking into singles forum's but has stoped as far as i know now. The question i have is b/c he used to click on e-mails and look at the singles site could i still be reciving e-mails just as junk mail that comes through or could he be back looking at the singles forum again? Someone told me a long time ago that once u click on e-mails that come in about singles u will recive more e-mails daily. I just want to know if it is just junk mail we are reciving or it's coming through b/c he has been looking at them. We get about 5 a day about joining the singles site.ty Cathy

Cathy - I am not really sure if I can totally answer that but I have gone on Yahoo Personals - and Match.com so everytime I turn on my computer and go on line - I get pop ups about other single sites - but I never - get emails.... I hope that helps... Good Luck....

Just another reply, for what it's worth...

I get a LOT of spam. Gobs of it. I have multiple email addresses and they all collect spam. Some of it is from singles and dating sites. Some of it advertises products that are supposed to enlarge various parts of my anatomy. Some of it offers to help me resolve my financial problems in one way or another. Some of it is pretty disgusting and in the interests of keeping this the PG-13 rated place that it is, I won't describe it any further.

My point is that most likely what you're seeing is spam, plain and simple. Getting something in your email from a singles/dating site is not conclusive proof that anybody is shopping around.

I would have to agree with the other replies. With the way computers are now days, it is very easy for them to get that info and send it to you. Do you use a PC or a Mac? The reason I ask is on a PC there are easy ways to check his email and web file the he is looking at. I don't know how to do that on a Mac.

Still trying to save it,
I have a pc, how do u check it??? I know how to go into the history, and the cookies and see what is all in there. But i heard in the history pop ups can also enter the history as well as the cookies, So if that is the case i would not know if it was a pop up that came in while he was surfing the web, or a actuall website he looked at.

I am not a computer expert at all, but I know that I get some awful Spam mails that I certainly have not signed up to, but they say "You subscribed to see Britney Spears naked". Like durrh HELLO!!!! I may have done some bad things, but seriously am not that warped

That would explain the subscription thing.

Hope this helps a little.

Now THAT truly WOULD be awful! (and I'm a guy!).

In the dark, if he did not sign off and you go on right after him, assuming also that he did not clean cache, go to his toolbar under his screen name, and it will show every place he visited! this has to be done before the computer is turned off! And assuming he did not clean tool bar of clear it! LouLou

In the dark 45-

Sorry for the delay, I did respond to your other thread also. The history only shows the pages he visited but MAY not show everything he has done. Following the steps in the other thread will help you out a little more. How big is your hard drive and how full is it? If he clears out the cache when he is done those steps I described may not help much. If that is the case the only way to see anything is to use a program that "finds" files that have been "deleted". You have to be very computer savy to use one and I would only suggest that if you are sure he is having an A and you want to know how far it has gone.

As has already been mentioned, those spam emails often say that I've opted in even though I have have never done that.

I once did a spam experiment. I created a brand new email account at one of the popular free email sites. I didn't give that email address to anybody.

Within 1 week, I was getting spam email at that account. It's now been a year or so, and about once a month I go there and empty that account. Still haven't given that email address to anybody, but there are literally hundreds of emails in there every month or so.

Businesses are supposed to alloy you to opt-out by providing the information in the email necessary to tell them you don't want their advertisements anymore.
