Hey Orchid!!!

Yep, it's me still checking in on our community years after the fact. I see that there are quite a few of us old farts still lurking about which is way cool.

New stories, hum... well. I retired this year [got tired of being screwed by insurance companies and patients], sold the ambulance service and am now Mr. Mom [you wouldn't believe my schedule with where I have to take the kids]. I am now buds with the soccer coach, piano teacher, dance instructor, dentist, orthodontist, hockey dude and cub scout leader. But, that's a slow week.

G recently accepted a position as Billing Administrator for a rather large dental office. She is beat when she gets home.

We get up at 06:00 G takes Chels to the bus stop [Mother daughter bonding], I review the weather and news and take Ian [Step-father son bonding] to the bus stop later.

I clean the house, wash the clothes, maintain the yard and make dinner [I'm an excellent cook, believe it or not] and take care of my Mom during the day. Mom is staying with us following major eye surgery requiring drops and meds thru out the course of the day. Yep, I'm Nancy Nurse. I do have nice legs.

In addition to that I am still taking care of cutting the grass at my "old" house [oldest son lives there and doesn't have time to help me] and Mom's house. I was given power of attorney and am paying Mom's bills writing out checks and taking over sitting in the "Big chair" as the farm property she owns is being sold to developers. Yeah, buddy... BIG BUCKS coming soon.

We went to a party on Sunday at a neighbors home and Ian slapped a little girl on the arm leaving a very nice black and blue mark. I have never seen G that mad before. She was so embarrassed we left early.

Then Monday [Labor day] rolls around, G and Chels go shopping. Cool no prob, Ian is here with me. His buddy comes over and they take the phone in his room for the "buddy" to call his Dad to let him know where he is.

Five minutes later I receive a knock at the door. Gee a uniformed police officer wondering if there is a problem here. He tells me there was a 911 hang up and of course they have to follow up on stuff like that. Wow, I never knew that! [sorry] I tell him I was in the kitchen cleaning up, it was no emergency because the pan was coming clean and then it dawns on me. Where is the cordless phone? So... I invite him in to speak to the two boys. We both give them a mini lecure on abusing the 911 system.

Ian comes to me pleading not to tell G. NO, we'll wait till Mommy comes home [Don't want to ruin the shopping experience]. So I pick up the phone to call the com center cause I want to hear the tape and see what kid called. Ian is freaking out. Long story short... he later, hours later, admitted to G that he did call.

I might have to go back into EMS, less stress... It's only life and death there...

So how are you doing?

Push come to shove, G can call on any of us to fly over there and whack you upside the head if you get too friendly with those soccer moms.

Glad to hear you are both doing well. It warms my heart to see you helping your mom. U R a good son.

Hugz to you, G and your entire family.

Hey Medic,

Good to see you again. I like Domestic Dude, but who would recognize you if you changed. I have this strong suspicion that chaos sort of follows you around. I am glad everything is going well and that you are NOT bored with your life of retired "leisure".

Hey Gang,

Me again... Hey Orchid, I have been behaving, no worries. Ran into maybe one or two hotties so far, but, I don't need to bother. I have a hottie right here. Hugz back ta Ya!!!

Alright K,

Yes, I know... you may have said something similar in the past... But, for real, I might just join the "killing machine" part time just for fun.

YO Nikko!!!

My bud from across the river. Geez, I had more rest when I was playing ambulance. You doin ok?

WOW Nerlycrzy,

When the heck have you been? Um... Domesticdude238?... ah... Homey don't think so...

And last, but, not least JL,

Chaos following me around? Usually I cause chaos. Well I used to... If anything I'm not bored in the least. Statistics say that most men die a few years shortly after retiring because they feel they have no purpose. Cripes, if I die in two years, I'll get some rest.

At least I get some time to come play with you guys. G says a big "HEY" to all of our buds.
