I hope they'll post something as well.
However, we have all had our privacy at stake from the moment we began posting here. The MB boards are not -- never have been -- private. With the exception of the restricted access boards, anyone on the planet can wander by and peer in to see what we're doing.
That's, err, not private.
There are plenty of ways for a determined person to find you. Nothing on the Internet is ever private; people talk about ways to find information here all the time.
There are - Key loggers - Programs like Spectorsoft (an advanced keylogger with many bells and whistles) - Wireless internet interceptors - Corporate Internet security monitors - Google searches - Reverse DNS lookups - IP address comparisons - Good guesses - ... and probably many other ways that someone could find out where your publically available information is held.
There are absolutely no guarantees of privacy on the Internet (or in other parts of life, for that matter), no matter what the mods choose to do.

No problem.
I, for one, have nothing to hide and everything to share.
At least any searcher will see that censorship isn't practiced on THIS forum.

Well, the obvious (to me) solution is to NEVER tell anyone what your MB user name is.
Clear your cookies, history, and temp files after every visit to MB. Then the only way anyone can find your user ID is by putting a keystroke logger on your computer.
At least, I think that's all there is to it.

Just a word of caution for all. Nothing is anonymous on the web...it never has been. Those who feel that they have been totally anonymous online have been deluding themselves. Hope that doesn't sound too harsh. With the right tools and skills anyone can be tracked down online.

MB screennames are searchable pretty much anywhere. I'm sure something would pop in in Yahoo or AOL.
Always been that way.

Everything I've posted on here has been hinest and from the heart. If I've err'd in making assumptions about my WW intentions, she is free to clear them up. It would helpp my marruage for her to read what I've written here anyway - she's never allowed me the freedom to express it in any other way.
Maybe she will accidentally be looking up my screenname (she knows it by hear anyway) and find me on this site. Maybe that would give us some communication.
I have nothing to hide.
David (Hi Cheryl - I love you - just in case you find this )

Obviously, you people don't know how to pick a google-taxing name! I gave up a generic google search on greengables around page 50. Lots of B&B's, doll's, books, etc. No me.
If anyone wants to wade through I don't know how many pages to find my posts, they must have no life.
So, I've taken the liberty of comming up with other screen names.
Ducktape -- 17,800 results PoohBear --34,000 results Crabcake -- 39,000 PeterPan -- 135,000 Applesauce ---579,000 Mermaid --3,180,000
The trick seems to be to pick common items or characters and don't put any reference to your marital situation.
Jesting now done. Back to your regularly scheduled programing.

K: 511,000,000 matches. Safe again. But just in case anyone is thinking of grabbing a new name, I've got dibs on "A" and "of" and "the"...

Hey gg....when I punched my name in....it was pages and pages about sea creatures (1,190,000) and such before anything related to me came up...unless I also added "marriage builders". So really, if someone knows my name here AND that I'm on marriage builders...they can come here and search all my posts anyway. Thanks!

Yes, for my name as well -- they have to either know SYMC or MB in order for this stuff to come up. Of course, since the people who would be interested already know the connection to SYMC, all they need is the handle. And I think they already have that as well, so for me it's only a matter of time before my posts are read.
That should be... interesting.
*sigh*

FYI - Spider technology for bulletin boards is a fairly new innovation. When SYMC launched 10 months ago it was not available. I suspect it's secondary to RSS and XML. And I would guess it went live with a recent UBB/infopop upgrade.
However - in spite of the panic about being 'seen' there are really good things about bulletin board content being spiderable. The obvious is that topics covered in depth on these types of sites are now searchable via search engines.

Yes, I was already aware of this and to repeat my email reply to Just J-------
*********************** I have known about the "google" ability to bring up our MB posts for quite some time now. Discovered it under my MB name,,much to my dismay. It's interesting to note that even if we delete our posts or edit them,,they remain on google. The perfect reason to pick a user name such as "K"...where the google "matches" are endless and one could not access all of them in a lifetime!!! JustUss
******************
Is there a solution or remedy for this? I don't know,,I'll have to ask Admin,,,
Or how about it, computer techie's? Is there?

I noticed this a couple of years ago.
That's why I changed my handle to something that comes up in 191,000,000 pages.
