I just recently returned from a work related travel week. Annually we have a gathering of certain groups of the company for training, and it’s the only time we get together during the year.

This time, I noticed a LOT of the men (we run about 95% men in the company technical fields which I’m in also) NOT wearing their wedding rings. These are guys that I know are married, but for whatever reason, are not wearing their rings while at the training or at the activities afterward (and generally after being locked in training rooms all day those activities include drinking and dancing). And maybe some of them just don’t wear them at all, but, when getting on the plane with about 30 of them to leave I counted 10 that were now wearing them again that previously were not.

I really didn’t notice this last year (or a couple past) as I was still “married” (separated 2 years, divorced almost 1 year now) and not “looking”, but recently I find myself thinking about planning to someday maybe actually approach someone and start up a conversation (OK, NOT with someone I work with) and in general, now I question whether not seeing a ring matters.

I know it’s none of my business what they are doing – it’s their life. So aside from the obvious that for me, bars and clubs are not the place to meet people <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />, I look for the ring.

So now I’m wary, good indication that I’m still on guard I think. But ladies, what are some other observations to make? Guys, what do you watch for with women?
