It's been almost 5 years since D-Day (hit me when I looked at my username - my age at the time!!). The pain associated with his affair(s) is completely and totally gone. I go for months and months without a memory or thought of it, and when they do pop in they are just thoughts, without the anguish attached to them. I have long since stopped checking up on him and feel completely at peace about that. Since that time, we have recovered, moved across the country, bought a lovely home, sent my oldest off to college.

Our relationship is solid, loving and we are content. Sometimes we are passionate, sometimes we are comfortable. Sometimes we are model MarriageBuilders and work diligently at getting our 15 hours in, sometimes life gets away from us and we don't. It is not perfect, but there is no other place either of us would rather be than with each other. I guess that qualifies as Recovered; I guess all things considered it is pretty much what I had thought and hoped a marriage should be.

I think about our MarriageBuilders friends from the Bay Area every time we eat at Maggiano's (well, tonight it was actually Bucca di Peppo's which is kind of a Maggiano's imitiation so it's the same thing). And then I come to check up on you and see how everyone is.

Kate

Aloha KS,

Good to hear from you. Welp, I'm not in the bay area any more....least not for now.

H is in NY working on the relief work from the snow storms. Hope the weather isn't too harsh out your way.

Drop a line sometimes. I still remember our dinner. It was very nice to meet with you and your H. So much has happened since we last shared a meal together.

We are doing ok. Major issues come up and we deal with it together. So they are treatable. I usually squish the other issues with my MB zapper. LOL!!!

take care,
L.
