Just thought I'd let everyone know that I've finished my 26th weekly IV chemo treatment today. I am soooo relieved to have that behind me.

Although the timing may seem strange (5 weeks after WH left I can look back and see God's hand in so many places on this journey.

Just this week, as spring is arriving here at home and in my soul, I went back through Job. It's a book I know well because I taught it in my AP English class for 8 years. I took great comfort early in all this from God's response to Job in the later chapters of the book.

But this Monday, the thing that caught my attention were the words of Elihu. He spoke these to Job as he encouraged Job to stand up for God against the things the other friends were saying (helpful things like God is punishing you for a sin in your life, you must have done something to deserve this etc.)

"But those who suffer He delivers in their suffering, He speaks to them in their affliction." 36:15.

Suddenly those words were so true to my heart. I really could see that God had delivered me IN my suffering, and had spoken to me IN my affliction.

So many things happened this week that this verse helped frame my attitude. We have switched churches (DS15 wanted to go to a different youth group and I think we were all ready to move on), I refinanced my home in my name so that I can stay here with my kids until they are done with high school and college, and celebrated my DS15 b-day 9Tues), the end of my chemo. And we will be celebrating DS24 b-day and my mom's b-day (March31-also my anniversary but I think these b-days will be more important).

Somehow ending my chemo on the 1 year anniversary of DDay has really taken the sting out of that date for me. It is now a celebration of getting a new start.

I am looking forward to getting my energy back, going back to teaching, and moving forward with my life.

Thanks for all your prayers and encouragement in this. I'll still be hanging around MB, but maybe not as much. I plan to learn to dance and take my DS15 hiking more this summer.
