I am on the nominating committee for a Family Movie Night at church. Does anyone have any recommendations? What do you recommend and why?
Needs to appeal to all ages.
Last movie was 'Evan Almighty' and we've shown 'Facing the Titans'.

Chicken Run is really good and so is anything by Pixar.
The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-E, etc.
Enjoyable by all ages.

She moved away with the kids April 08. I contested it and got a lot more time with my kids. She's unhappy that I want to stay involved in their lives and don't settle for being an "every other weekend" dad.

Chronicals of Narnia is a great film. It might upset little ones when Aslan dies and the white witch is rather scary. We tend to show older Disney films like the Apple Dumpling Gang or the old Herbie movies. Takes the adults back to childhood and most of the kids have not seen them yet.

Journey to the Center of the Earth is a great idea! And National Treasure, The Ultimate Gift, and Night at the Museum. These are all entertaining for grownups with easy-to-identify Christian themes for the kids.

There are 3 of us on the committee. One is a minister, one is the mother of 3 children 7 & younger, one is ME!
So, right now, we are leaning toward "Star Wars".
K, thanks for the reminder.....I'm going to watch and listen this weekend.
It will be tough to find something to make everyone happy. I guess someone would have objected to 'Evan Almighty' if they'd realized one of the supporting actresses is a lesbian. :MrEEk:

So, right now, we are leaning toward "Star Wars". Yes. Star Wars Chapter IV, the "original" from back in the day is a great choice, in my opinion, though there is lots of shooting and killing, but no blood. And it makes for a great conversation of "good vs. evil" and how unseen "forces" can have powerful impacts in our lives when we "believe in the force." Great anologies for a faith-based organization. Other movies that my husband and I enjoy watching with our 5-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy over and over: The Incredibles

My kids saw Ghostbusters once and liked it, but I had problems trying to talk around the sexual innuendo comments of Bill Murray's character and the sexual person that Sigourney Weaver's character turns into at the end. My 7-year-old son had questions.
