I saw this poem/prayer and wanted to share it with all you BS/WS/recovering MBers

A Thanksgiving Prayer:
For forests tall and oceans deep
For canyons wide and mountains steep
For sunset skies of pink and gold
For every sunrise we behold.

For Winter's snow and springtime's thaw,
For Summer's warmth and Autumn's awe,
For roofs that keep the rain away,
For walls that hold it all at bay

For work that puts food on the table,
For health and rest to keep us able

For friends and family around us,
For years to come, may they surround us
For soldiers fighting for our peace
For days to come when wars may cease.
For hope, so burdens won't enslave us
For thy forgiveness which will save us

For feast, and those with whom we share it
For loving hands that did prepare it
For all that makes this life worth living
We take this time on this Thanksgiving
To bow our heads and bend a knee And pause to look around and see ,
For all that was, is, and shall be
We have none to thank, Oh Lord, but thee. Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving to you Yanks!!! laugh

Thanksgiving story
My DH and I were going to meet some people tonight for a thanksgiving dinner... well truthfully I didn't really remember it was your Thanksgiving... but look a night out is a night out ... it was going to be at the casino because they were working with some yanks on computer software and we got invited.

EXCEPT we didn't get there as my darling daughter blew her hubby's GT car up tonight. So I had to go have a look at it for her to see what we could do. I suggested a burial at sea but she didn't see the funny side of it and cried. Mean mothering 101 rotflmao

So we sent DD off to keep her hubby distracted .... easy he's watching cricket replays and drinking beer with mates. DH & I went to see what she had done .. oh boy.

So after digging around under the hood her dad and I found leaking radiator... faulty temp sensor and cracked head. So new engine, radiator, coolant tank & sensor. It was by then 7.00pm.... Went to DH's mate- DD's 'uncle Steven' who had just bought a car from insurance company for parts, new engine and the lot ready to go. By then it was 9.00pm
So guess what DH and myself and 'uncle Steven are doing tomorrow and the weekend?????
Thanksgiving "dinner" was cold pizza. sigh

So the 4th Thursday of November .. go enjoy it to your hearts content. grin

However if you are going to have a holiday.... why choose the 4th THURSDAY ..where is the thinking here ... now a 4th MONDAY and a long weekend and I'm sure I could sell it here in OZ, especially in November in our summer. BBQ on the beach.. wine.. beer ... I can see it now kiss

I would like to add my gratitude to the many folks here (you know who you are) who don't often visit the other forums I now frequent. You helped me immeasurably when I was going through the deepest, darkest days of my life. I don't know how I would have survived without you.

The days are getting brighter, even though technically they're getting shorter at this time of year. I still have a small scab where there once was a gaping wound. I imagine there will always be a scar.

But the (mostly) faceless friends I found on MB have helped more than you can imagine. In this time of Thanksgiving, I am grateful for you most of all!

Very well said, Fred.

Thank you so much to so many of you who have long recovered from adulter and volunteer your time on this forum to assist others going through one of life's most painful experiences.

This place is a trauma helpline, and you are the unpaid workers on the frontline offering your guidance and support.

You've really helped me this year and continue to help.

THANK YOU!!!
