I'm a great believer in motion activated cameras that you can access over the internet. They store pictures and audio and can be set to send you a trigger email. You can control them around remotely.
The secret is to place them up high and pointing at the place you are monitoring so that they are above and behind anything you want to capture. Sometimes that can be just a car . .
