I forget things. I forgot that I had the kettle on and totally melted it, I was on the computer working. Yesterday, I forgot to put my pager on me and when he called, and I didn't return his page, he flipped. he stayed out until late (for him) and was still mad when he got home.
My forgetfullness is a problem. I really don't know what to do. I forget little things as well as big ones, like paying the bill and the electric gets turned off, more money to pay. But if you say, well write it on the calendar, which is what he says, I forget to do that.
Sometimes I think that I am in the beginning of Alzheimers disease, but my husband just thnks that I can't multitask.
he is so logical about things and I am not, well not his logic anyway. I just don't get all whacked out about not returning the page in 60 seconds
I know that all this sounds trivial, but he is really upset about it and although, he has not stated it in cut and dry terms, he wants out if it doesn't stop. I really don't know what to do.
But I do feel that if he is going to use this type of thing to leave me, then there he goes.
He has a nasty temper anyway and this is a usualy outburst of his.

Artist...
I dk how old you are...but pass this on for what it is worth. A friend of mine at work started experiencing these things...thought she was losing her mind. Her doctor said it was part of "peri-menopause" ... a period preceding menopause where hormone levels start to change, and that in some women significant memory problems arise...she is starting some thing (I forget, maybe low-level birth control pills?) which the doc thinks will help stabilize her...
Other physical things, depression, etc. can also effect memory. Regardless of your age, if this is not the way you've always been, I'd start with my doctor.
SOmeone else recently posted wanting aids for memory, as his forgetfulness was driving wife nuts...you might see if you can find his post...it was in last 2-3 weeks...
Hang in there--
Kathi

Kathi,
Thanks for the info. I am 38, on Sunday. I don't know if this is how I have always been. It doesn't bother me as much as him. But I will discuss it with my doctor, can't hurt.
