Does anyone here remember her? Has anyone heard from her? Hers was one of the truly remarkable success stories on the D/D board.

She worked for more than a year to restore her marriage and it worked. I hope and pray that all is going well for both of them.

Does anyone have any news?

Yes.

She showed up on the GQII board about 6 months ago (maybe less) to announce she has RE-married her husband!!!

They are happy and joyful together again.

Isn't that neat?

I think she posted to others in need on GQII as recently as 2-3 weeks ago.

God is something else, isn't He? Not only is hp doing well, which is fantastic news, but I was thinking to myself less than 10 minutes ago, "I wonder where PepperBand is?"

I bought the book 'Wild At Heart', on your recommendation, and devoured it. The thread that discussed that book was my favorite since coming to MB. Since I read that book, I am noticing how many TV commercials denigrate or belittle men. It is incredible.

It occurs to me that hopeful_person would have some good insights for that thread.

Thanks for getting back to me about her.

I got this book because of a thread many years ago on MB !!!!

The thread was authored by an un-repentant WH who was emailed by his affair-partner's husband ... and the HUSBAND of the OW recommended he read "Wild at Heart".

I thought that was such an unusual thing for a betrayed husband to do .... recommend a spiritual book to his wife's OM .... and I never forgot the title of the book.

Then one day ... I was just browsing Boarders... and I saw the book! Because it was close to Father's Day ... I bought it for my H as a gift.

Weird? Maybe...

Divine? Probably

Divine? Probably

I think that that betrayed husband showed amazing courage, deep thinking and faith. I really might do the same thing. The type of manhood shown by that husband is extraordinary.

To be a man in America (and the world) today is a very confusing thing, because all of my natural manly insticnts are thought to be crude, rude and uncivilized. I am told, explicitly and implicitly, that I am not needed. Two mommies or one are just as good, and perhaps better, than having a dad around. I have no idea what to make of two dads.

My instincts are to protect and privide, but I am told (and I see) that women do not need me for either. They can take care of themselves, thank you very much. My real-mannes is seen as Neanderthal, a throwback to a less enlightened time when women were oppressed and men were the oppressors.

Shame, all that, because I truly would love to be allowed to be the man that God made me to be. Not mean, not nasty, not oppressive, just a man; not some woman's best girlfriend.

Interesting thing is that (to tie together the parts of this thread) that hp's husband always sounded as if what he needed was to be treated like the man he knew he was inside, and when hp started doing that, he was able to put aside his hurt, anger and trust issues and be that man.

I cannot tell you how many men, me included, are longing to be MEN, the kind of men described in that book. Even more know that there is something terribly wrong, buy cannot figure out exactly what it is. The author of that book knows. I gave it to my priest/confessor. I will have to see if he is done with it. It bears another read.

Get ready, Pep. I am going to ask you and others another question on another thread.

Thanks, and God Bless You,
GB
