I have read that LostHusband posted a post that was almost a joke, about getting married on a certain date, but it ended up coming true, so if it worked for him, I thought I would give it a whirl. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

So, here goes: I am getting married on March 12th 2006 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> .

Since I am running my own software business, I have a contract with Microsoft and Symbol Technologies to develop software for the next generation of Win64 and embedded systems for Symbol. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="images/icons/cool.gif" /> .

I have the ring, I have the date, I own my own home, I own Visual Studio .NET (2003). All I need is the girl and the contracts!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> .

God Bless All and I pray that all of your dreams come true!

Thanks, Bellevue! I think of it as a prayer,but prayer is magic, isn't it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

I hope that all you want and wish for happen for you, too!

“””I have read that LostHusband posted a post that was almost a joke”””

Point of clarification, that crazy guy you speak of posted a post that was TOTALLY a joke, no “almost” to it. As I recall we were discussing “re-virginization” and I threw it out there for a LAUGH and that’s what it got, a laugh.

“””about getting married on a certain date, but it ended up coming true, so if it worked for him, I thought I would give it a whirl.”””

Well actually, it ain’t came true yet and won’t fully come true because the date is flexing a wee bit.

”””I have the ring”””

And just what are you doing walking around with an engagement ring?

“””All I need is the girl and the contracts!!!!”””

Dag-nab-it… You had me till you threw in the girl stipulation and “contracts”… Uhhhhh

All seriousness aside God is wonderful and I’m sure He has a wonderful plan for you. I was really lucky that my eyes were open when He placed my fiancé in my life. My prayers are with you brother.

On a side note it’s real kewl that you have all those “material” things going on but I do hope that you don’t attract a woman for those reasons…….

Hi, Bill,

Ok, you got me. I do not really have a ring, yet, but I know some guys who can get one for me fast...they say it fell off the back of a truck in Brooklyn, and I ain't askin' no questions!

I have some material things, yes, but my business is still microscopic; see that's it right over there making that Girl Scout Bake Sale look like a vast pastry empire by comparison! My house is small, but I have big plans (especially for the kitchen, woodshop and the underfloor radiant heat). The house does sit on the most beautiful island you ever saw, so I know I am blessed beyond measure.

What happened to you was no accident. I just got off the phone with CJ, and she backed up what I have seen on the boards here; you are a unique man, with singular qualities of caring and love to those around you, and that you are a fantastic dad( something I saw a bit of when you posted about doing French braids for one of your daughters a long time ago) God chose you two for each other.

My therapist said to me, "George, having a million dollars is very attractive. If you had a million dollars (which I do not! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> ), how would you know if she loved you or the money?

Thank you for your prayers, your humor, and your example.

God Bless You,

GB

I hope your positive attitude pays off for you. I think I'll try the same.

Of one thing you can be certain, if your business is microscopic mine is more so. And you have the potential to make vast amounts more than I do. The up side to that for me is that no one would be after me for my financial potential. I own my own pottery business & if I took a close look I might find I work for about $.03 an hour.

3 cents per hour? Can I borrow some money? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Iam glad that I could help spark something positive for people here. I am blessed by that, as well.

Ok...this is hilarious...did Bill also mention that he is not only a great french braider, but that he has gone to his girls' competitions as well? My dad used to go to the same kind of competitions and became a much better "coach" second only to my paid coach I had...in a completely girl-oriented sport nontheless!

Since I read but didn't post on the revirgination thread, I will bite....

The date for peach's future white-wearin' soiree will be july 4 2006...I do not have the ring...some guy will find it for me...but I have an idea and even bookmarked the dress and designer (rather informal-ish but very very elegant)...it will be on beach...in carribbean...either Paradise Island or Puerto Rico...did that about 6 mos. ago when I was bored at work.

Now...let's see who else is brave enough to go ahead with this!

Of course, folks, that means we have to re-enter the world of the living and get out there...and breathing helps...Heck...I am going waaaaay against the odds since I shall be carrying a pager about 1/2 a month (only not wearing it when my son is not with me) so I will be not exactly the social butterfly for about 3 months until coworker at new job comes back from mat. leave and when new staff is hired..whichever first. Isn't that fun?

Now gotta figure this one out into my equation of summer 06.

Make your predictions here....

I am going to make one more ok? But Bill, you and faith will have to email me on this one <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> ...

Oh Peachy, you are brave to put a date out there.
I will not go for 2006 since that would be my 10 year anniversary!

I told my current BF that we could just date 10 years and that would be fine, so how is December, 2014 looking for everyone?

Thoughts of remariage? Yikes! Not for a long time I suspect. I can see hoping for a nice date in maybe two or three months.

I'll have to save & save if I'm going to stretch my $.03 an hour to buy a coffee & even longer if I invite someone out for a coffee.

George,

I hope this works for you like LH.

I remember reading that in a thread too.
And when I read about his enagement, I almost thought he was up to another one of his jokes again. But, I see this is no joke, and I'm very happy for him.

As for me, I'm not putting any dates out there.

But, I will keep tabs on you all.
I hope the best for you!

And I can see hoping for a nice date in maybe two or three years !!

And even then, it will probably only be a possibility if some traveling salesman stops at my door. Haven't exactly got myself out there for people to meet, and doesn't look like there'll be much time for that in the foreseeable future.

But I wish all the rest of you the best. May those dates work out for you!

LL
