I would appreciate if you would pray for my aunt and uncle. Their summer cabin has most likely been destroyed by a major fire in the mountains around my home town. It has already burned over 4000 acres, and an estimated 250 buildings(homes and businesses) have been destroyed. The govenor has declared a state of emergency for the area, and the whole area, including the firefighters, have been evacuated. The fire has been moving through the tree tops, which is especially dangerous, and difficult to fight. My mom said that the families who's homes were burned are being put up by a resort until the danger is past, but isn't sure what happens after that. My aunt and uncle do have a home in town, so are not as displaced as others who live only in those cabins! Please pray not only for my family, but also those who've lost even more!
Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Short update:
Got an email from my cousin about the fire, and she said that her parent's don't have any reason to believe that their cabin was saved. It was too close to the fire lines. Many of you have probably guessed where my home town is now, since this fire is on all the major news stations! Yep, the number one fire of the nation at this moment! From the news standpoint, there are currently 650 firefighters on this fire, with another 1000 on their way! On the news tonight, they had a news chopper over the fire, showing how it was traveling from tree top to tree top! It's so sad, especially for those who's only home is now burnt! Please continue to pray!
Thank you again!

Tigger,
I am sorry to hear the news about your aunt and uncle.
I just talked to my dad tonight who lives there, but away from the fires.
Adding my prayers.

Well, I just got back from 4th of July weekend w/my family. It was VERY depressing seeing all the smoke everyday(so much of it that it was almost like it was overcast every day!), and seeing the fire from my parents house, about 10-15 miles south of the mountain range, at night! I also saw my aunt and uncle with the summer home, and the just found out that it is definately a total loss! My aunt wanted me to send their thanks for your prayers, as they both have a peace of mind that only prayers can supply! Please continue to pray for those who's homes may still be in danger, as the fire jumped the lines on Thurs, and I believe that up to 8 different structures were burned yesterday! It's still a very bad fire, and it is believed that the fire won't be completely out till the summer storms arrive later this month! Pray that the rains come soon as it's VERY dry throughout the whole state!
Thank you again for all your prayers and support!

Oh, Tigger, how awful. A prayer for your Aunt and Uncle and their neighbors. I can't imagine how horrible it would be to lose your home to a disaster like a huge fire. It seems these disasters are happening more and more these days.
God bless them all and grant them comfort and blessings.

Catnip,
How wonderful to read your words before I head off to bed tonight! Thank you for your prayers and thoughts for my Aunt, Uncle and their neighbors. On the news tonight they say the fire is 70% contained now, and they have let people back into their homes in the foothills, but not up the mountain, as the fire is still fairly unpredictable! I was looking at some of the pictures they have on the local newspaper, and it's amazing how "terribly beautiful" the fire really is. (I used the quote that our 10 yr old D used on the night of the 4th when we could see the fire almost covering the whole top lines of the mountain range that night!) They are expecting some rain by this weekend, hopefully, but the humidity is still very low, and the temps still very high(106 today I believe). So far, it's the worst fire for my state this year, but not near the fire from last year that burned over 400,000 acres! Oh well, I'm not going to go on about this, just wanted to thank you, and say how nice it was to see your handle tonight!
Love,
Tigger

Gem,
Don't worry about the timing, cause the prayers still help! It will take years for some to recover from this devistating loss, but at least my aunt and uncle have their main home in town. They most likely will not rebuild, as it took them years to build the first cabin, and now the restrictions will cause the construction to be a lot more, just to build up there.
Again, thanks for the prayers.
Love,
Tigger
