If you and your spouse can afford an extra $10 each... how about a silly shopping date?

This is especially fun at a mall or strip mall that has a thrift store, dollar store, or other fun stores where you never know what you will find for a small amount of money.

Agree to meet up in 1 hour (or whatever) and each of you go off to buy something for the other person under a certain set amount of money ($4 or $10, whatever) and then meet up and give your 'gift' and tell them why you chose it for them....

Another fun shopping trip is when you DO have a little extra money to spend and go to a "gender friendly store" that you both will enjoy - like a leather store, Fossil Watch Store, Hobby Shop, Game Store, etc. and find something to either do together or buy something together. (Matching leather jackets, a board game to play, new watches, a huge airplane to fly together, a silly new game or gimmack, etc.).

Great idea. I believe I read something similar in Michael Webb's books.
