Competition and games are strong forces for most men. Softball is just a form of this for your man. Try buying a deck of cards and a book on card games and try a few games together. It gives you time together, something to do with your hands and also gives that competive feel for him. You don't need to go to every game, just go to some. Men enjoy showing off doing manly things. I know it's silly but the grunts, scratching and spitting while swinging a club is a way we say "look at me, I am strong and a leader of men, I can protect you." Very silly and primal thing but that's just the way God wired our brains.
[This message has been edited by Joe in TX (edited May 08, 2000).]

joe, thanks for the tip!! he is a very competitive man and loves the attention from me and everyone else!! but by what dr. harley is saying, we should do pretty much everything together. i don't want to take his softball away from him, just for him to cut down and for us to find a sport we can do together. i think we may try golf.
------------------
dawn k
