WOL had some tests run today. He has apparently suffered a heart attack and/or has a blockage. Please pray that the doctor's will have wisdom and discernment as they treat him. He has a terrible heart history - family history - and has gained a significant amount of weight, developed high blood pressure and possible early stages of diabetes. I know he would appreciate the prayers of his MB friends.

Rld,

Both of you are in my prayers and have been for some time.

Remember there's a God factor RLD

Acts 3:15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead.

When you are on the ropes and the armies of the devil are aligned against you, when your backs are up against the wall remember satan intends it for evil but God turns it around for good for His purposes.

Thanks all for your prayers and support. RLD is correct, but I am at home and feel fine. They will know more later but something has occured. Either the Heart Attack or blockage and she is right. I am almost 6'1" and have gained from 205 to 237 since Sept 05. I am a stress eater. I also have not exercised like I should. I have run Triatholans, Biathonlons, Marathons, etc... and just let myself go during a time that I should not have.

I don't blame RLD. I blame myself. I am presently trying to get a handle on it and that is how all this was discovered.

I appreciate everyones prayers. We are both going through a lot health wise and none of this (what we are going through in our marriage) helps any, but I am trying.

Thanks again.

Wow. Good to see you home so fast. Hopefully it is just a blockage, which can be fixed. Don't think they would let you go home so quick otherwise.

Me too but it was just test today. Who knows. I am not used to the high pressure, pre diabetes, heart patient thing at the ripe old age of 43. It is all new to me.

It is certianly a wake up call. They suspected something last week and the test were done this morning. I was not in the hospital other than for testing. Hopefully it is the blockage and I can have a stint put in or something like that and move forward with trying to get in better shape and take care of myself.

Thanks for the prayers.

PS RLD has called off the hearing and put off the divorce for a little while. I don't know if it due to my current health issues or she has a change of heart about trying to work on our marriage. Either way I am grateful for the extra time to show that our marriage can work.

Thanks again all.

My kid's dad had a blockage at 36, in 3 arteries - 95%. His dad died of a heart attack at 39. They did the angioplasty balloon thing, and he was fine for a few years. At that time, they didn't have the stent thing.

Then he had to have bypass surgery, and that lasted for 15 years. By the way, he continued to smoke (hope you don't) and drink, and eat lots of fat.

Don't smoke or drink. Love to have a glass of Red Wine but bet I don't have 3 glasses a year. (Southern Baptist you know <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) Do eat bad though but working hard on that now.

Thanks for the info.
Posted By: believer Re: Prayers for Waiting on love - 03/21/06 03:39 AM
That sounds good. Work on that eating thing right away. At first it seems so hard, but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature.

I took a "Heart Smart" cooking class. It helped. Our whole family changed the way we ate. In fact, 20 years later, my boys still eat lots of vegetables and fish, and very little red meat.

But my husband wouldn't stick to it, and would go out to restaurants all of the time. Plus he smoked, and never quit.

If you do what you are supposed to do, things should be fine.

BTW Believer,

I meant to tell you on my first post in this thread that I am sorry for yours and your childrens loss. Truely I am.

Thanks. You know, I had a lot of time to prepare for what finally happened. The doctors did a angiogram and they had a film. Because of my husband's 20 years of smoking, he had multiple places on all of his arteries that were damaged - maybe 30 all together.

After he had the angioplasty and continued to smoke, the doctor told me to get a job, as I would probably have to raise my boys alone.

I did get a job, and am still working there. My youngest son was 6 months old when my husband had his first angioplasty. My husband lived for 18 more years, despite himself.

In fact, he left me for another woman, and left his boys too. He lived life in the fast lane for all of those years.

WOL,
I know that you dont blame RLD and rightfully so. The health of the BS is the responsibility of the BS. Just as we ask the WS to take ownership of their actions, so must we. That being said, marital strife does cause, with alarming frequency, health problems for one or both involved. So while I dont want to assign culpability to RLD on this, it IS one of the negatives that does come from a situation such as yours.
With it being baseball season, I hope and pray that when you get to the point of being able to exercise, that you will. Take care of yourself WOL! For yourself and those boys of yours......and I pray that as you do that it will eventually be for RLD as well. Positive mental image of yourself is crucial in your battle!

Just as an update, WOL had a report from the doctor. His doctor does not feel he had a heart attack, and probably does not have a blockage. He is going to a cardiologist on Tuesday for further testing. So, that is definitely a praise report.

WasCrushed, I appreciate the fact that you did say that WOL is responsible for his own actions. That is definitely true, and I think he has full realization of that. Believe me, I know how stress can cause medical problems. I have had very serious health issues for almost 14 years and am currently battling vaginal cancer. Most of my spare parts have already been removed, but I have an immune disease that causes my body to basically attack itself. I spent 11 nights in the hospital this past July/August with double pneumonia, almost nonexistent blood pressure, high fevers . . . the list goes on and on. So, the argument that I am the one causing WOLs health situation just doesn't sit too well with me. Nothing is gained by going tit for tat about which one of us is suffering the most from our marital problems. I know that WOL is in great pain from my EA, but I am in, and have long been in, lots of pain myself due to our relationship or lack thereof.

I want to end on a positive note. Thanks again to all of your for your prayers for WOL.

RLD,
I am glad that you saw my post in the light that it was meant. I hope that you noticed that I DID say that marital strife can cause trouble for BOTH. That certainly seems to be the case here.
My prayer is that both of you can get to a place where you are both in touch with God's will and he will heal both of you spiritually, physically, and emotionally. There is nothing that our God cannot do. He can and will take a bad situation and use it for His will. He so much wants to instill true and lasting joy in our lives that can only come from living in accordance with His will. It is up to us to allow him to do that.

I just posted an update on my thread about my doc appt.

Below is a copy from that post:

For those that followed and offered up prayers from RLD's post about me. My cardiologist thinks my stress test is ok and no procedure is needed, but my Blood Pressure is still up so I am now on BP med. That is a praise report.

Things could be much worse. Much much worse.

WOL

Thank you so much for prayers offered up. RLD has also had her 1st Cancer treatment this week. 5 more to go. Please continue to pray for her.
