We both posted at almost the exact same time. My attempt at levity.

Sorry slow day at the office. Must be too darn cold in SoCal

The ruling grows out of a case in which a Charlevoix man accused of trading Oxycontin pills for the sexual favors of a cocktail waitress was charged under an obscure provision of Michigan's criminal law. The provision decrees that a person is guilty of first-degree criminal sexual conduct whenever "sexual penetration occurs under circumstances involving the commission of any other felony."

is adultery a felony in Michigan??????
The article states YES

but it hasn't been prosecuted since 1971

wow

interesting

here is my favorite part of the article

[color:"blue"] But it has since elicited reactions ranging from disbelief to mischievous giggling in Michigan's gossipy legal community. [/color]

There's an extra element of humor here because our illustrious attorney general got publicly outed for having an affair a couple of years ago. Teared up at a news conference and the whole deal...reminded me of the Jim Baker thing years ago. Puleeze.

Not to TJ, here, but....I love the comment posted at the end of the Free Press article in which the poster points out how conservatives freak out about the idea of same-sex marriages, but have all but forgotten about that pesky little commandment about adultery. Hmmm...might cause some to reflect on their own behavior...

Let's put THAT on the table. If marriage is under attack, let's not get all distracted by starting a second front in the war, leaving the main front unprotected. Adultery is FAR more damaging to FAR more marriages than the RELATIVE number of same-sex "marriages" that would ever take place. I can tell you that my marriage is FAR less threatened by the idea that a couple of guys who want to make a commitment to each other than it is by my former "friend," RT, who dug her claws into my husband for her own amusement.

Sorry...rant over.

Adultery is not. Adultery along with a felony falls under the criminal sexual conduct area of the law and is first degree criminal sexual conduct therefore punishable by up to ten years in the pen.
