Good luck to you Hanora! I was diagnosed in December 1996, underwent a series of treatments and am fine now.
The advice to men to be vigilant too is important. Men have breast tissue too and are, therefore, also susceptible. Since most men don't think about it, though, breast cancer in men is usually more advanced when discovered.
Cottonwood

Good Luck in your treatment. It sounds as if it is very early, that's great. I dealt with breast cancer from 7-99 through early 2000, now my check ups are all fine.
I am glad I didn't know about all I would go through with H, at that time. I blissfully thought my H was my rock. I kept my spirit up because I wanted him to know how much his support meant to me. In hindsight... well it is almost too much to think about.
I am well now, full head of hair, and H is once again being caring and close.
I have to agree with check ups and PSA, though my tumor could not be detected by palpation by numerous specialists, it was large enough to require chemo. Please don't rely on self exam alone. L
