Third week of being Mr. Mom - 08/24/04 04:46 AM
Hey Gang!!!
Yep old timer posting again. Just like the title states. This is my third week of being Mr. Mom. I am now a full time domestic god.
I retired this year and am living the good life [?], sold the ambulance biz because I was tired of getting screwed by the insurance companies and patients without the common decency of dinner and a movie first. Gina recently was hired as the Billing Administrator for a very busy dentist's office and is killerishly tired when she gets home.
My Mother is currently staying with us following major eye surgery and requires drops every hour plus the routine meds for glaucoma in the other eye and is 5 years post open heart surgery. Cripes, I thought Val was high maintenance, Mom sends the kids down stairs to get me if I am not by her side for 5 minutes putting clothes in the washer.
Tomorrow, Chelsea has an othodontist appt, at 11:00, I will come back, cut the grass, my son T2 will drop off my Mom [he is taking care of her while I am gone] and I will heading off to the eye docs for a 17:15 appt with her.
Family and friends are helping out with Mom, but, for some reason she prefers to be here and not at home. I did get T2 to cut the lawns at her house and my old home. That was tough, he had to sit his butt on the riding tractor and steer. At least he is helping the old man out.
Other than that stuff things are great here. K mentioned in an earlier post on the Heartpain thread that I would prob be getting a job before two years, last week was rough and I was giving it only a few days before I needed to be out of the house, but this week is going pretty well. I think I'm getting this Mr. Mom thing down pat.
