Around the time my DH turned 50, he developed an AWFUL smell. His father has this same smell. Doesn't matter if he's just showered. It's there all the time. It's causing me to not even want to be in the same room as him.

Anyone have any ideas how we could fix this?

Also like to add, that I don't like colognes. Most of them give me headaches.

I think that a medical investigation is a good idea.

Your husband needs to see a doctor. Let us know the results.

I think that a medical investigation is a good idea.

Start with Trimethylaminuria.

Find more documentation here.

Ask for a "Chem 12" test. A general metabolic work up.
Also, a CBC and a thyroid screen.

See the following post?

Pep's the real-deal diagnostician. She names the messes, I clean them up per her orders.

That's very interesting, since it is inherited. And also b/c it was around the same time that he started Atkins diet, which includes lots of eggs and nuts.

Thank you, Pep. I've been begging him to see a doctor. Now, I'm going to just make an appointment for him and see that he goes.
