Steppppping out......of my comfort zone!!!! - 02/06/06 03:53 AM
[color:"purple"]And it wasn't as hard as I thought that it would be!!! It was easier the second time!!!!! [/color]
[color:"black"] The local Stock show and rodeo have been in town this last week. (This is a big deal in this part of the country) My girl friend and I went to the civic center where the events were taken place, looked for my cousin that is to be in town, ok there were a lot of tall cowboys with hats on, didn't find my cousin. Ended up bar hopping. Landed in the new country bar, I noticed this really nice looking guy close to our age. He smiles we smile back, he is playing pool, the other guy with him is older, but comes over to me and asks if I'd dance when he was done, I said perhaps. Wanted the other guy to notice me, I know that I've seen this other guy somewhere, can't think of where though. It bothers me all night, dance and have a good time, but evrytime this guy walks by he smiles, winks or nods. (My kids say I wouldn't notice if I guy hit on me or not) I noticed the attention, but went no further, ok. The night is winding down and nothing, we ask his friend his name he told us it was Wayne and that he was military. I tell my friend to go ask him were he is has all been stationed, she wouldn't she says you go, I DID!!! this was a biggy for me it was way out of my comfort zone. Nice guy never been stationed at the same base, but know that I've seen him before!!! He asks what I do and I explain that I do ISS at a high school and he asks which one and I tell him, says that he has a nephew that goes there. Usually if I know a kid by name means he has spent time with me, his nephew had spent Wed with me. Time to move on and he says thanks for coming to talk to him and I said that I was told that it was a good pick up line and we laughed, nothing more.
It hit me this morning while getting dressed for church where I have seen him before, church a few weeks ago!!
My friend gets to church this morning and I start telling her where it is that I've seen the guy from last night before. Just as I finish the last word, we look up as a friend walks in and right behind him is last night guy, very brief eye contact as my friend and I are laughing, how funny is this!!! Services are over and he scooted, nothing more. I don't really care though, that I talked with a guy and flirted is what was way out of my comfort zone. And I did it!! Yippee for me!!! [/color]
As I told my daughter about all of this, she said wow mom, "now if he only bowls, that would be great!!!"
