I used to count the minutes.
And endure the silent hours.
That grew like shadows in to long days.
Then came the weeks.
Months fell off the calendar like petals from a rose.
Two years now, of echoes in my heart.
Some dreams never die.
Not a day goes by, even now, when I stop and remember
How I used to count the minutes.

I understand...
I used to work in a law firm that pressured it's associates to document and bill an ungodly amount of billable hours...
"how I used to count the minutes" reminds me so much of that nightmare.
When I left...I went years before I again wore a watch.
