Hi folks,
I know the weekend is slow, I'm just venting for my own personal vent's sake!
Anyway, for those of you that know *OUR* story (mine and LINY). *WE* (me, H, and OW) all work in the same place. I knew it was a matter of time before I heard something in an innocent conversation that would trigger something in me again.
It happened last night. It gets a lillte confusing - so hold on tight. *WE* all have family that work where *WE* work. LINY, me, my niece, my mother and my niece's boyfriend. The OW has her sister (an employee of LINY) and her mother. Well, all of *OUR* family (LINY and mine) have different last names (including me and LINY - since I still use my maiden name). Outwardly no one could make the connection. And I look nothing like my mom (she's blonde and blue eyed and very fair - I'm shorter, dark complexed, dark hair and hazel eyed - I'm bi-racial. There's no obvious connection, until you tell someone - and they are always like "that's your mom, are you adopted?"). My niece too looks like my mom and is 21, so she's a little close in age to me and LINY to be our niece.
Anyway, Mom is sitting here last night saying she over heard a conversation, how this woman's daughter absolutely loves her boss. As the conversation unfolds - mom learns the boss is LINY. It turns out the OW's mother is talking about the OW's sister and LINY. Sis thinks he's the greatest and loves him (I don't know if that has anything to do with the fact her sister was LINY's "friend").
It made me feel so uncomfrotable. But it made me realize something else .... I don't know what the OW looks like .... What would I do if I "over heard" a conversation? .... Or my niece? Or any of my friends? Because this place of "business" has more "monkey business" than "Melrose Place". (I often refer to it as "As the Stomach Turns" or "The Young and The Clueless"). At one point, people thought LINY and I were involved in an A - we were married for 8 years and I was pregnant with our 4th child - go figure!
I know I've grown so much .... but I don't know how I will react to an "over heard" conversation.
Anyway, I'm not really looking for advice .... because if and when the time comes .... I will react as *MYSELF*. I just needed to vent.
Thanx everybody!!!!!

I'm sorry. I said it would be.
And just think I only mentioned the *family members*. Combinded *WE* have been employed there for like 40 years and *WE* all have workd dayshift and nightshift - if I listed all of *OUR* friends - you're head would explode!!! (*WE* are all likable people!!)
Thanks for responding

believer, I work dayshift in a place that employs about 5,000 people. LINY and OW work nightshift. I have probably seen her over the years (b/c I used to work nightshift .... I never "worked" with her). So, nope I only have a description of her .... long blonde hair and anorexic looking and so so attractive (this account was from my BF and LINY himself). I've seen her sis, she's cute and very young. But that's it. I wouldn't know the OW if I ... hum ... spit on her.

Brown - Now you know that I adore your husband, but you need to know what OW looks like - otherwise it is just too stressful for you. So find out.

I know .... but I haven't been up to it. Believe it or not I'm really ok with not knowing what she looks like. I can't obsess about it or compare myself to her (I already have self esteem issues) Besides LINY and BF said she couldn't hold a candle to me (inner and outer beauty). And I think he's not "seeing" her as so "attractive" any more (If you read his first few posts - They hated each other when they 1st met). I know someday I'll "see" her - for now I don't really want to. I do have to "work" there and still remain "professional" (But who knows maybe I'll meet her at Wal-Mart or something - then who knows!) [ September 05, 2004, 12:02 PM: Message edited by: brown ]

Well if you are okay with it, that is fine. But it would drive me crazy.
Sheesh, my WH's OW is pretty, and 18 years younger than me. Talk about low self-esteem when I first found out. But thanks to this board, I have moved on, and doing quite nicely, thankyou.

yes, Believer .... I have read that you've moved on . You gotta do wat ya gotta do!!!! And LINY also said your H is coming around, now that you've moved on. Go figure!! MEN!!!
I know it could drive me crazy ... if I let it. And the darlin' man has had a turn around and he is really really trying. (It's obvious to the both of *US*). I hope that dang OW sees it too!!! And the good news is that she won't be there for atleast 1 month (laid-off - Poor baby!). And when she comes back LINY will be off for 2 weeks. I just keep clocking the time and building the LB's. I know he loves me I never doubted that .... but temptation is still temptation. It's really hard for us all to work there.

I know I will respond to the sit with grace and dignity .... if I should meet her at work.
I don't know if I should meet her anywhere else, what may or may not happen

LINY -
I don't know how to drive a Harley, so we'd be in big trouble.
Hey with working different shifts, and working weekends, do you and brown spend the 15 hours a week with each other doing fun things?

Fun? As in raising four kids (19,18,11,&3)??????
Jane, get me off this crazy thing!!!!
It's very, very difficult, to say the least. My mom has been extremely kind in helping us reconnect and spending some QT together. And I'm trying to take more time off from work. (I have always been a workaholic--my obsessive behavior--but found out that, last month, when I took an entire week off--the place was still standing and the business was still running!!! (You'd *really* laugh if I told you *where* we work!!!!))
I am eventually going back on the day shift. It's complicated, but I need to secure my position now, before I do anymore moving around. (And with the possibility of a few openings in the very near future.) Hopefully, it will be in the next 2 years or so (when our youngest is ready to start school.)

Hey LINY .... I said I'd tell you later .... get off my thread .... this isn't like stealing the blankets .... and you did not offer me advice "if and when" the situation turns into an overheard conversation or even meeting OW!!!!
So answer the question or advise or move on, buddy
Seriously, thank you LINY for reading and understanding my post (I don't know if many people could understanding it!!!! And I thought I spelled it out pretty fair ... too players, I guess).
And I wanna go on a picnic toooooo!!!!!
Believer, can I come too????

HI BROWN!!!!!!
I think your LINY is a keeper!
He's shown remarkable personal growth and sincere remorse .... I say, brand a big old "B" on his [censored] and keep him around another 30-40 years or so....
Nice to "meet ya" Miss Brown

Pep...thank you for the kind words! However, it just goes to show you, how much of a keeper brown is!
believer...yes, more issues to conquer! (IC restarts Wednesday! ) I hope my mental metamorphosis has improved me. Yes, indeed, many issues. However, a picnic is still requested!
