Hi Everyone...

Hope no one gags too badly , but those of you that are parents will understand. Our daughter's picture was chosen by a greeting card company to be on one of the applique embellished cards that they distribute internationally...so, of course, since this will probably be our biggest brush with fame ever, we are bursting with pride...We didn't submit it ourselves, the photographer that we go to submits her work to several major card companies...we were stunned when we got the news...the card just came out before Christmas, and is in stores now I believe...look for it when you're out...we haven't gone to a store and seen it on the shelves for ourselves yet...that's gonna be too strange!!!

Anyway, if I get this linking thing right, the photo can be viewed here ...Keep in mind that I scanned the picture in, and I am clueless...she doesn't really have a "growth" on her cheek near her ear, that's just due to my lack of how to...go figure...

Anyway y'all, thanks for indulging us on this one!

OOO!! Can't wait to see it!!! That is so neat - You need to keep your eyes out for the card & buy up 20 or 30 of them to keep for prosperity!!

Wow - that is a gorgeous picture. Congratulations !!!

By any chance, are you a scrapbooker ? I make scrapbooks all of the time of my children and grandchildren. It is a hobby that I so enjoy.

If you would want to preserve the greeting card in a way like this, I would be more than happy to make a scrapbook page of this card for you. It could be any size. I normally do pages 8 1/2 by 11, but it could also be 12 x 12, 8 x 8, etc. Let me know. Or if you know of someone who does this in your area, you might ask them. Just a suggestion. I enjoy saving my pictures and memories in this way.

Congratulations again - Carnation

Thanks for the really sweet replies everyone...

Kim...I must sheepishly tell you that we bought 100 of them from the photographer for 1/2 price, otherwise, they retail for $3.95 ...Wow, cards have gotten really expensive, havent't they?

carnation...What a sweet offer...no, I don't actually scrapbook, and was promptly cured of any inkling to do so after we did my daughter's "The ABC's of Me" book assignment...that's some work-especially if you have a 6 year old that has to be actively involved! I'm impressed by those of you with the stick-to-itiveness to do those things...WOW! I think that I am just going to have the original B&W photo professionally framed alongside the card...I know it's not creative, but I'm L A Z Y!!!

Mrs. StowAway...6 is fun, but challenging sometimes at our house...she really thinks she's 16!

Nerlycrzy...first, I really feel the need to call you "Already Crazy", because of Melody... And secondly, LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING where our DD is concerned...only kidding!!! She is our little sweetie...

must take after Mom!!!!!!!

Hey...Realtor!!!!!!!!!.

Well I can say she's got her Momma's beautiful face but she's got my dark hair and brown eyes. She's our gorgeous little Greek girl whereas her mom is a blonde bombshell.

BTW, she is not wearing lipstick. The photo is black and white...all the color is added as embellishments by the card company.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Now if Mrs. Wondering would just post a photo or two of US on the MB Photo Thread then y'all could see what we look like. *

I had this photo examined by an expert. The mysterious "growth" on her cheek is actually a Rice Crispy. I believe we are all the victims of another subliminal messaging campaign by Kelloggs and the W's. I wonder how much they were paid to put cereal on that poor girl's cheek. Has your cereal consumption gone up since you've seen this picture? Are you craving only crispy breakfast products produced in Battle Creek, MI? Now, the only question left is what are we going to do about it?

Oh, what has this world come to?

(She's beautiful btw)
