UGGH.. I am tired of getting burned. I cannot find a movie to watch. We got the Marigold Hotel movie because I liked the people in there... Acting was good but the message was HORRIBLE on several ok on ALL fronts.... The worst was the end of the movie when the wife (who has been portrayed as horrible) tells her husband of 40 years that she is letting him go so he can go to the widowed woman(Judy Dench) because the haven't been happy for years.. Yuck..
I have an idea of taking his truck and parking in the middle of our 50 acres for our own little drive in movie ( using the laptop in the truck) Can anyone suggest a decent movie...

My wife loves Titanic. I can't stand it.

Glory Secretariat Glory Road Seabisquit Hunt for Red October Gran Torino The Kings Speech Cinderella Man War Horse <----awesome movie!!
These are our favorite movies. DH likes 40 Year Old Virgin and Wild Hogs, though.

But we have no idea what you like. You might not like that one.

I can't agree on Sea Biscuit as I can't stand Toby Macguire.
He was a great jockey, KT!!

Favorites of wife and mine... Tombstone (has an affair though) Brave heartOwn that one but haven't seen it in awhile Poltergheist[b Yuck.. don't like paranormal/horror movies The godfatherdon't like mafia movies Indiana Jones moviesOwn this, the kids just finished the series The Green mileSeen it, kind of strange The Princess BrideWe own it. This is a family favorite A Few Good MenOwn it. My brother in laws feet are in the movie. He was part of the core of cadets they filmed at aTm for the beginning of the movie!! No Country for old men Good will hunting Any of The Bourne moviesBoys just requested to see these, so we watched them. I like the books better. A Beautiful MindI liked this one, hubby didn't. Shutter IslandYuck, horror again.
GloryYes, I like this one. We went to a special premier when it came out with Civil War reenactors. We own it. SecretariatMy only problem with this one is how the wife just completely neglected her family and disregarded what her husband wanted. I know so many people liked this movie. It just rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't think having a winning horse was worth the cost to her family. Glory RoadI'm not familiar with this one. I'll check it out. b] SeabisquitWe own it. Hunt for Red OctoberWe just recently watched the whole Jack Ryan series and introduced it to the boys. We own the whole set. . I like Red October ( Sean Connery...swoon), but I really like the ones with Harrison Ford. I love how they show the relationship between the husband and wife!!! Gran Torino Must say that I didn't enjoy this one. The Kings SpeechAwesome movie. Cinderella Man We own this one but it is still in the wrapping. we rented it when it came out. My big problem with it is the trainer's potty mouth and how he used the Lord's name in vain CONSTANTLY. The parts with Russel Crowe and his family were AWESOME War Horse <----awesome movie!! I liked it, but the boys thought it was really cheesy.
These are our favorite movies. DH likes 40 Year Old Virgin and Wild Hogs, though.
Red Dwarf is a very stange British comedy series from the 80's. It takes place in the future on a space ship with one human, a cat who evolved into a human, a hologram and a computer.
How about "The Blues Brothers"? I can't remember if there is vulgar language in that one. I haven't watched it in a while.

Thanks so much everyone. I will add some of our favorites:
We love the cleaner Robin Williams stuff like Patch Adams.
RV starring Robin Williams is HILARIOUS, especially if you own an RV. Plus Jeff Daniels plays a dad of the homeschooling family. ( Portrayed a little weird, but still more positive than most.)
Gettysburg is an AWESOME movie
The Ultimate Gift- This is probably one of my favorite movies. A grandfather makes his grandson go through a series of gifts ( like the gift of work) before he can get his inheritance.
I don't like most war movies, but it is dh's favorite genre. My favorite (other than Gettysburg) would have to be We Were Soldiers Once and Young. I LOVE the relationship between Mel Gibson and his wife and kids. (Too bad life doesn't imitate art.) I love how it showed things from the wives point of view. Sam Elliot is HILARIOUS as the old veteran. Language is rough ( but realistic) and there is realistic hard to watch war violence.
Lord of the Rings trilogy is my favorite of all time.
My husband and I liked Last of the Mohicans, but my boys HATED that movie. My middle one summed it up this way: Lots of music in the background..run hack run hack run hack.. Stop, look lovingly into her eyes... Repeat ad nauseum...
I guess I like heroic movies with heroism, life lessons learned.
Oh... my daughter and I went to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green and I REALLY liked it. To be honest, it is really a parent movie not a kid movie. It makes you think about what you value and/or want from your children as a parent.

We saw that last week, and I was actually going to add it as a recommendation here.

The Lorax Up - This is my favorite movie right now
Can't think of any others right now, I'm not a huge movie fan. DH loves movies, but I usually work while he watches movies.
Me: 30 Him: 39 Together 5 years Married the very best man in the world 04/06/2013 after being common law for too long. I'm a lucky woman. 7 Cats - Viscount Ashley of Leftfield, Pawkie Petunia, The Timinator, Leo the Lionheart, Fruit Snack, Cloud, and Barret And our very lucky pony, Starbucks
Carl Brashear: Forgive me sir, but to me, the Navy isn't a business. It's an organization of people who represent the finest aspects of our nation. We have many traditions. In my career, I have encountered most of them. Some are good, some not so good. I would, however not be here today were it not for our greatest tradition of all.
Captain Hanks: And what would that be, Chief Brashear?"
Carl Brashear: " Honor, sir"
When A Man Loves a Woman
Once Were Warriors; it's harsh, cold, horrible, and disgusting. It's life at the bottom, and the bottom of a bottle. Pain, violence, and dysfunction... and returning to the roots of a people to rise from the ashes of abuse and life with an in-home terrorist. It will wrench your gut, make you sick... and somehow you still turn out with some amount of hope at the end. I leave you with a small portion from it;
"An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field." - Niels Bohr
"Smart people believe weird things because they are skilled at defending beliefs they arrived at for non-smart reasons." - Michael Shermer
"Fair speech may hide a foul heart." - Samwise Gamgee LOTR
Cheaper by the Dozen - they choose their marriage over careers, after a bumpy couple of months
Fiddler on the Roof - clean, inspiring, but kinda sad
Holes - quirky, fluffy but pretty clean (about teenaged boys in juvie & a buried treasure)
Ghandi - epic, serious
Ben Hur - actually STILL A really good film!
Facing the Giants - inspiring (come-from-behind sports movie)
Pursuit of Happyness - very inspiring true story (single dad)
I'm not a huge movie fan, as my criteria are so strictly defined: no sex or women treated as objects, can't do gory violence, and I like them better if there's some inspiring message. I LOVE Lord of the Rings - my all-time favorite too!
