Thanks to a dear friend who typed up a synopsis on this book, and for those who are interested in the book, but not sure they want to buy it, here are some good highlights from the book that is helping me and will continue to help me.

"Keep no records of wrongs in your thoughts and you will be less likely to expose such records by yourwords"

"The person who gains the most from forgiveness is the one who does the forgiving."

"It is a demonstration of a greater grace when we are fully aware of what occurred and we still choose to forgive."

"Graciousness is shown by what you Don't say, even if what you could say would be true."

"Relinquishing bitterness is an open invitation for the Holy Spirit to give you His peace, His joy and the knowledge of His will."

"True forgivers destroy the record they might have used to vindicate themselves".

"The greater the hurt, the greater the blessing that will come with forgiveness."

"When you totally forgive your enemy, you have crossed over into the supernatural realm."

"The Paradox in total forgiveness is that it stimultaneously involves selfishness and unselfishness"

"Self-pity and Self-Righteousness are twin sins that complement each other and are eclisped when we begin to forgive totally and keep no records of wrongs."

"Don't believe the devil even when he tells the truth."

"Walking in the light means following without compromise Anything that God shows you to do.

WHAT TOTAL FORGIVENESS IS NOT

1. Approval of what they did.

2.Excusing what they did.

3.Justifying what they did.

4.Pardoning what they did.

5.Reconciliation

6. Denying what they did.

7. Blindness to what happened.

8. Forgetting.

9. Refusing to take the wrong seriously.

10. Pretending we are not deeply hurt.

WHAT TOTAL FORGIVENESS IS

1. Being aware of what someone did and still forgiving them.

2. Choosing to keep no records of wrong.

3. Refusing to punish.

4. Not telling what they did.

5. Being merciful.

6. Graciousness.

7. It is an inner condition.

8. It is the absence of bitterness.

9. Forgiving God

HOW TO TOTALLY FORGIVE--USING JOSEPH'S EXAMPLE IN GENESIS

1. Do not let anyone know what someone said about you or did to you (Genesis 45:1)

2.Do not let anyone be afraid of you or intimidated by you(45:2-3)

3.We will want them to forgive themselves and not feel guilty (45:4,5)

4. We will let them save face (45:7,8)

5. We will protect them from their greatest fear (45:9-13)

6. It is a lifelong commitment (50:15-17)

7. We will pray for them to be blessed/bless them (50:19-21)

**caution** never go to a person and tell them "I forgive you" unless they are seeking your forgiveness. This will be counterproductive. They will say "For what?" because most of the time they feel that they have done nothing wrong. Just forgive from your heart and keep quiet.

Part two:(Didn't want the post to be too long)

TO FORGIVE OR NOT TO FORGIVE

In a nutshell, we are wasting our time if we don't.

For we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.(2 Cor.5:10)

You then, why do you judge your brother? or why do you look down on your brother? For we all stand before God's judgment seat. (Romans 14:10)

If you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.(Matt. 6:15)

When we refuse to let something drop and insist on dwelling on it the enemy gains more ground to stand on.(2 Corinthians 2:11)

We are stepping on God's turf when we seek revenge.

The Lord says, "It is Mine to avenge;I will repay" (Deut.32:35 and Romans 12:19 and Hebrew 10:30)

"To hold another person in perpetual fear by threatening, "I'll tell on you," will quickly bring down the wrath of God."

"I have often concluded that very few people really deserve the vindication they think they are entitled to. I can only say that, if vindication is truly deserved, then that vindication will surely come, for God is just."

"That God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting man's sin against them. And He has committed us to the message of reconciliation." (2 Cor.5:19)

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)

"The planks in our eyes cause poor eyesight; they magnify the specs of dust in others while simutaneously blinding us to our own faults."

"The Ultimate proof of total forgiveness takes place when we sincerely petition the Father to let those who have hurt us off the hook."

NOTE:* There are times when we face unjust situations where people take advantage or harm others. Forgiveness principles should be practiced with balance and common sense. Forgiveness should never be confused with tolerating destructive sins. An offender can be removed and still be forgiven.

FORGIVE YOURSELF

"It is almost impossible ot say which comes first--forgiving others so that you will be able to forgive yourself, or forgiving yourself so that you will be able to forgive others. But it is not TOTAL FORGIVENESS until both are equally true."

"there is no lasting joy in forgiveness if it doesn't include forgiving yourself."

"Forgiveness is worthless to us emotionally if we can't forgive ourselves".

"the very breath of satan is behind the fear of forgiving ourselves."

*Forgiving yourself a major breakthrough and set you free in ways you have never before experienced.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and Just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.(1 John 1:9).

I am in the middle of this book among many others and I want to move on. I want to heal.

I still have a long road ahead, but I want to learn as much as I can about forgiveness. I hope this has helped you as it has helped me.

Hugs and prayers for us all,
Twiisty

Thank you very much that was very well worded. Something that I needed to read because, I am not at the full forgiveness point yet. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />
