I'm a digital graphic designer and I luv-ah my job! I work for a small, non-profit foundation who's goal it is to communicate health care information in our area and help other non-profit (in healthcare) start-ups. I have my own "graphics studio" where no one bothers me and I can really focus on my projects.
This is a dream job and I am so bless to have it! (Thank you God!) And it's all due to God and a wonderful older man with lots of $$ and a heart of gold, who started the foundation. AND it came about exactly one month after I discovered my H's affair. Talk about a split personality...I was devastated and estatic all at the same time there.....it was pretty hairy!!
HA! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/tongue.gif)

Marie,
No wonder you were always in the kitchen! I could have sworn you were a nurse, tho!!
You guys got me laughing and amazed and impressed at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing yourselves. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) This has been such a blast.
What, no rocket scientists?!
You guys are becoming more three dimensional all the time. Damn, sometimes it makes it harder knowing I'm not just writing in a glorified diary here!

Hey Leilana,
great idea....
I AM a rocket scientist, AKA flight attendant!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coffee, tea or me Sir????????
No, I didn't have the affair, although I had many opportunities. Makes me wonder sometimes, why didn't I? He would never ever have known about me and someone else in another city. I guess that essentially, it is just not me, to do that.
I absolutely love it, and never want to do anything else.
I have been studying for a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Management, with subs in Law and HR. Not quite the 'ditzy' f/a but it doesn't help being blonde.
I'm just about to start with an airline here that is undergoing an expansion. I didn't want Virgin Blue (or as some wag friend told me, it's too late for that for me anyway!!!! HOW RUDE........) Virgin Blue is part of Richard Branson's Virgin empire, and they are just about to start flying over here.
thanks for this, it's so interesting to know what everyone else does.
hugs to you
Jo

This is great!
I'm a bona-fide stay-at-home mommy. Before I had the Nickster I was a computer tech at Texas A&M (Aggieland) and when Nickster's old enough I will resume my schooling. Not sure what I'll be majoring in, but it's a three-way tie between nursing, accounting and some sort of sociology-based carrer (marriage counseling?) LOL - could I be more conflicted? H is a network administrator at a local company... that's how we met - it was computer nerd love in the 40-below server room. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)

Nursing school was full--too long of a waiting list--had to "settle" for degree in Nutrition. But I did have to take anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, chemistry, and lots, and lots of math!
Actually, it's been a good match.
Not in the kitchen much though--thank goodness--I burn toast!!!! Kitchen duties are limited to food inventory, ordering, mock survey inspections. Major responsibility is writing nutritional assessments and POC. Love the clinical aspect of the job ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) .

Have to admit those nurses can be a bear at times--think they "know" everything about nutrition based on the one "intro to nutrition" class they were required to take back in college ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) ---YES! I'M ONLY RAZZING YOU!!!!
As far as rocket scientists are concerned???? That don't impress-a me much ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) .
Hope you had a somewhat "normal" day at work today! Peace, ~Marie

I've been waiting to reply to this thread because I didn't want to be the first in my profession, but I finally gave up on that.
I am a teacher. (So MBers, please learn the difference between "your" and "you're". That really bothers me.)
Why do you all suppose that so many computer related professionals are members of this site?
Peppermint

H was warehousing manager for aerospace co. Was laid off now looking for a new job. Keeps saying there is nothing here. He started as a stock clerk and has worked his way up.
I told him he should consider being a consultant for new companies trying to start a business, setting up their warehouse and inventories. Any ideas where he can go to get names of new companies starting up.
Just and idea. Thanks
As for me I was a dental assistant, ER Trauma clerk, also ICU, CCU, my last full time job was as a Mary Kay Consultant until I became ill 3 years ago. Now being a full time MOm is my number one JOB, all I can handel physically at the moment. At times I think working outside the home would be less WORK. Thought I would jump in here...presently an assistant scientist for a pharmaceautical company. Previously a research assistant working with transgenic/cloned animals (livestock) and managing an IVF/embryo culture lab (again livestock). Don't think this qualifies as a 'helping' profession although H's OW is his sec, so I guess she was 'helping' him. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) Sorry couldn't help a little sarcasm!

I have been a waitress, cosmetologist, construction management, volunteer coordinator, outreach worker, program coordinator - and currently doing what I love the best: starting a non-profit multicultural resource center in rural Minnesota (social work).
Hobbies: Sewing, Painting, Decorating, Reading, Volunteering on Boards, Small time community activist.
For a period of my life - I spent all free time on MB, and pursued no other activities. So, I guess that was a "hobby".... It was certainly worth it!

I'm one of those computer related people: Online Help Author/Tech Writer (I write usable Help. Really!!)
