Our son was in the hospital with a pretty bad case of meningitis. I wrote this when my wife took her turn staying at the Hospital...

As I lay down in our bed, lonely and alone

I rest my head on your pillow

Curled up in the dark, the smell of your hair surrounds me

I miss your breath on my face

your body next to mine

Your soft warm embrace

in the dark the distance seems so great

I am yearning, hoping, longing for your swift return

Beautiful CV.

It's amazing how our creative sides come out during times or stress.

Very nice CV.

Thank you. My wife loves these things, but I've always wondered if they were good or just good to her!

About 2 years ago a started a book which is just poems for her. This year I'm doing something different. We saved every letter we've written in the more than 20 years we've been together.

I am organizing them chronologically as best I can and transcribing them into a book(s) for her to be able to read through. We started writing to each other when I was 17 and she was 15. It will be a nice history for us to look back on and for the kids to have when we are gone.
