Marriage Builders
Every Wed. we pray and fast for one another for resolution to our marriages and our lives. Every Wed. we can check in and let everyone know we have prayed for the group. Prayer does mighty things and group prayer is even better. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Matt 18:20.

I think it will be great to see how God works in our lives and heals our marriages and us. If you want to pray with us I will be more than happy to add your name to the list below.

With the holidays and my commitments, i have not done much reading, outside of the Bible and "The Purpose Driven Life". So I do not have any insightful reading for us today. If anyone wants to contribute any readings on marriage or family or (of course) God, PLEASE do so.

I will leave us all as I pray today with two quick anecdotes (sp?).

We are to love our spouses no matter what. I heard on James Dobson's show (I believe) an author (Lepien - I believe) he heard a couple used to walk around the house saying, "Even though". They said this anytime thier spouse wasn't acting in a loving way towards them. It meant, "I Love You, even though you are not being loving towards me right now." Remember, Christ loves the church and His people UNCONDITIONALLY. That is how we are to love our spouses.

The second, I take from "The Purpose Driven Life". Again, not an exact quote. Don't be ashamed of your weaknesses. Don't feel that you are too weak for God to use you. Through your weaknesses, He will be glorified by His purpose for you.
I have a weakness for pornography. By walking with God, I have been letting people know that by giving in to this, we allow Satan into our lives and risk losing everything.

My friends in Christ, may we all receive God's Blessings today and we pray as one for the restoration of our marriags and lives, in Jesus' Most Holy Name. Amen

tryingTOsaveMYmarriage.

PS Read this week's praise reports above. God DOES work in our lives.
Thank you all for your commitment to prayer. The Lord has a special place in His heart for you. Please continue to lift up my M. I love my W deeply and continue to pursue reconciliation. Pray that the judge in our case will look with favor on my request for a legal separation. It was my only legal option after W filed for D. God bless you all!
Hi Everyone,
The middle of this summer I often saw a gal walking with her dog. We have a school in our area that is approx a mile around, and many people walk there for exercise. This gal always walked the opposite way I did, but this summer one nite I asked her if I could walk with her sometime. You know how when you know whether to approach someone or not!!!!! We visited for about 10 minutes and she seemed very comfortable with me. I figured if she was married, she would say so. Then for a month and a half I never saw her again. I figured she was married or she thought about it and got scared. I didn't know. Then last nite there she was. I went to her and told her I was sorry if I had made her uncomfortable or had made her uneasy. She said she had just been very busy and hadn't walked for a while. She also had been going to the YMCA to swim. She said she looked forward to walking with me. So we walked, and she proceeded to tell me she was a widow. Her husband had died two years earlier from lymphoma cancer. She has two children and good friends, and has a good job, but it doesn't replace her marriage. I told her I understood being divorced for seven years myself. And I understood death because of losing my daughter. She told me she had never been with another man besides her husband. They had been together since junior high. She had never loved anyone else. I told her I admired and respected her for that. I told her I would love to do things with her as friends and that I wasn't here to replace her husband, but to help her to find closure as she healed from his death. I told her I had no ulterior motives, that I wasn't a horn dog, but I would love to enjoy her company. To just do some things from time to time.

She is what I would call a virtious women, a wholesome woman. I don't know what the future holds for her and I, but I feel God put her into my life. Now I need to find out why. Regardless, she is a diamond among stones and I thank God for her.

I would ask that God would speak to both of our hearts as to what He would want for us. I think we both know our meeting wasn't an accident. But for those who have been thru what either of us have been thru, it is always wise to walk cautiously. We need a little joy in our lives, we've had enough pain. So I feel this is a praise report in itself with a possible bright future. Please pray for us.

God Bless

Just checkin' in to let you all know I'm praying and fasting for you all today. May God give you all a BIG hug today!

Two nights ago, my H came over to pick up his stuff. I was so nervous. Hadn't seen him in months. Everything went well. He just came, got was he was there for and proceeded to leave. He said thanks and I told him to take care of himself. Then as he was walking away he turned back and started a conversation about my car. We stood there for about 7 minutes talking. It was really nice. It felt good to see him and be able to talk to him that way. Please pray that his heart will be softened. I know God is working. Also, he will be having a knee surgery in January. Please pray for that too. I hope to be able to be there for him but whatever God has planned. Thanks!

God bless you All!!!!

My fellow believers,
I just finished saying my prayers for each of you and I fasted today. I also offering up all struggles today for the restoration of your marriages.

The last week, my W and I have been nit-picking every night. It's not what you think. Our D caught head lice (nits are eggs) from someone at school or gymna stics. So my w and have had to work side-by-side to clean our D's hair EVERY NIGHT. So we have been spending 1-2 hours in each other's personal space, and there have been NO CONFRONTATIONS.

Doesn't God work in mysterious ways.

God's Blessings,
TTSMM
Aloha ya'll,

Just wanted to let you know I've been with you all today and praying.

Lupo... I've seen ya lurking how are you doing?

Love in Christ.

Hello all,

I too joined in prayer for all of you. Also, praises go to the Lord for working in all of our lives! Great to see so many praise reports! I ask for everyone's prayer today for my husband. Please pray the Lord reveals to him that money does not buy true happiness. The only true happiness can come from living through Jesus Christ. Please pray that he is shown the path back to God's ways & that God's voice speaks to him so loudly today that he cannot ignore it. Please pray for a hedge of protection around our family & that we are truly brought a Christmas miracle of our own! All this I ask in Jesus' name, Amen. Thanks so much for your prayers!
Sg,

Awwwrrite sg. But does the dog approve of you? How ever there is one thing I would really like to ask this young woman. I like to ask her what her intentions are? lol From what you said it sounds like she's a nice woman.

hurt'n, hopeful98 and blended,

Much thanks for joining us here. The ranks may have thinned out a little bit but the heart here is big and the prayers consistant and strong.

DZZZ,

Missed you over here. It's a heck of a lot more peaceful here than some of the other forums lol Hope to see more of you. Bless you and OHIT.

SFM, TTSMM,

Thank you for being faithful.

Anyone seen lupolady around? I think she might have re-injured her arms swinging that 2x4 at Mortarman.

Laterz' everyone.

S&C,

The nite before last we were walking and the dog, a schnozer [spelling?], walked one step behind us with it's nose even with our knees. She said she had never seen the dog do that before. Normally he is all over trying to go around trees and signs the wrong way. I told her the reason the dog was so well behaved was because I had whispered in it's ear that if it didn't, it was going to Dzzz's house!!!!! No, not really. I think it was missing her husband and was surprised by there being a change with two of us, instead of the just the usual one. I think she has been very shaken by the big change in her life. I think she is grieving and trying to figure out the future at the same time. I do thank God that she hasn't been desperate and could be strong enough not to "need" someone. She has been pure thru this trial, and I really admire her for that. I still ask God if this is His plan or does he have someone else. I ask that if it is meant to be, he will help us to both know, and we won't feel rushed. I want true love not lust. Love can wait, lust can't.

We have a good group at this site. It is based in truth and is searching for Godly answers. No one here is by accident. We were all lead here for a purpose.

God Bless Everybody

I will be back here praying with you on Wednesday....

Per the comment about a pornography weakness. That is certainly something I can relate to. If I had not indulged my lust for pornographic images, I would probably not have placed myself in the situation of cheating on my wife. This week I attended my first meeting for this addiction, and I plan on continuing attending (with my wife's blessing). I join with your prayers for all suffering with that problem, and especially those who are not currently able to admit that their habits involving pornography and/or sex are out of control.

S&C,
Thanks for the comment, even with a little ribbing, it means a lot to me when you speak those words. It's like reassurance. Faith is the proof of things hoped for...

How are things with you? I pray your marriage is getting better every day!!!!!

Funny when I wrote that I was thinking you'd just have to change your name to something else. "blessedguy"... has a good ring to it.

W and I are renting a beach cabin on the other side of the island from where we live. For the most part it will be just us, God, and a few selected books. No TV's, or computers, dishes to wash etc. We'll have a couple over for one evening to celebrate their 6th Wedding Anniversary.

We are going to relax. Watch the sun rises and sun sets let the crashing waves put us to sleep and wake us up in the morning. We've done all of our Christmas shopping (except for each other and our son), so we can unwind before the last three weeks of the year and Christmas at our house with the IL's.

W and I continue to have good conversations (although we get a bit anxious talking about some of the stuff we need to). Just have t deal with the posibility of OM being at my W's Christmas party next weekend. I doubt that he will be there though. He didn't go to last year's and the year before just days after D-day he was but I think he wasn't to comfortable sitting real close to me at the same table.

God's in control and I'm learning to let go!

Laterz' and bless you.

S&C
S&C,

That should be about as romantic as it could get for both of you. I didn't know you lived on an island. [God, don't let me covet!!!!] I was shoveling snow this morning!!!! God, what do I need to repent of!!!! Maybe stupidguy is a better name!!!! It never snows on islands, does it??? Am I living here by choice, or is there a REASON for me being here!!!! Could the reason be I made a stupid choice. I think I'm getting warmer. No colder!!!

I will agree with you in prayer that God will keep the other man away or out of your way. And that people that work with your wife will admire you, respect you, and even protect you and your marriage. That THEY will lift your marriga up and glorify it for His names sake. In Jesus name. Amen

God Bless S&C
someguy!!!!!
somekindofguy,

I pretty much grew up out here in the middle of the Pacific. But I have experienced the seasons on the farm I lived on in Indiana.

Yes it does snow over here. People actually do some skiing some winters. They drive thier 4x4's up Mauna Kea (on the Big Island of Hawaii) and ski down. Kind'a rare though.

quote:
Am I living here by choice, or is there a REASON for me being here!!!! OK one more time; I'll type slow.

Ok So we have singleguy, blessedguy, stupidguy (I don't like that one), someguy, somekindofguy, whodaguy, whataguy, don'tknowtheguy, any other guy names out there to choose from? If there are just add them here and take a poll like Takola did a while back and let the forum choose your name (Danger, some of us are really weird and no telling what you will end up with). Your best bet would be to pick your own name (just had a funny thought) heheh. My warped sense of humor.

Thanks for the prayers.

Blessings.

sg,

I personally like blessedguy. Says it all, doesn't it?
quote:
We have a good group at this site.

I know I certainly feel that way. It feels great to be able to share with a group of true believers that have their faithful hearts turned toward restoration. The problem with sharing with family & friends, although they mean well because they don't want to see you in pain anymore, they don't truly believe that your spouse is coming back. Without meaning to, they tend to focus on hopelessness (he's not coming back, please move on, for YOUR own welfare). I refuse to give in to hopelessness & despair. Although my husband says he's not coming back & he doesn't want to, I know in my heart that God will restore this marriage. He just needs this trial to come to a climax in order for Him to show His glory. Thanks, singleguy, for encouraging me to keep the faith & your kind words of wisdom in all your posts.

s&c,

Sounds beautiful! You know, I finally read your thread that's located at the bottom of your posts & I am so happy for you! Glad to hear that things are working in your favor! God does answer prayers & your story is proof that it's in HIS timing, not ours. How did you endure so much patience? It's been 2 months for me & I feel like I'm dying sometimes! This does give me lots of hope for my marriage - thank you for posting it for all to see! I will keep both of you in my prayers. God bless you.

You're pretty FULL OF vim & Vinegar, aren't ya?!

Picking on sg (oh, sorry! I meant BLESSEDguy) like that!

AND picking on ME?!?!?!?! Whoa, guy.
I NEEDED that exercise, tossing a big ole 2x4 around!
But it sure looks like I ran him off for good! He hasn't posted since (I sure HOPE not......)

So, where have I been? Well, after I started back to work, I wrote that I was having a bad time of it, emotionally and physically I was spent. This lasted essentially until Thanksgiving. That was a blessed time, even tho I spent the week-end with unbelievers (but family!).

Since Thanksgiving, I have been working a lot (trying to catch up), and have started physical therapy on the arms (the muscles have basically "seized" and my arms do not extend fully). Also, have a lot of residual pain in my wrist....there's more, but you get the picture.

Anyway, I don't have a lot of time to hang around the computer, like I did when I wasn't working. I am still trying to get myself back on a regular schedule - between working and PT, and had a Home Health Care Nurse who was coming in a couple of times a week, so had to schedule to be around for that, and whatever else.

Meanwhile, I have been praying for all of my MB friends - and it's good to know you all have been praying for me, too!

I haven't been very faithful in reading Purpose Driven Life, so I am behind in that, too, but reading nonetheless. I need to get back up to snuff on that.

Soooo, S&C, you lured me out of "Lurkdom" to give an account of myself. Are you happy now?

Glad to hear you're doing ok and your Thanksgiving was blessed.

S&C,

You are a great guy too. I am thankful for you as well. I even like it when you pick on me. You do a pretty good job of it!!! But you did forget a couple names, like: awesomeguy, wonderfulguy, specialguy, bestguy, hunkyguy, spunkyguy, and sometimes confusedguy!!! But I think the one that I would chose just because of all the great people here at this thread is " THANKFULGUY "!!!!
I am thankful for all of you. Bless them Lord for being great people.

All My Brothers and Sisters,
It is great to hear all the Good News from living His Good News in our lives.

sg,
"you're-the-guy". That is great. I am so happy for you that God has placed a woman in your life who you can comfort and support in her time of need.

SFM,
My heart goes out to you. I feel sorrow and can commisorate (sp) on what you are going through. The waiting for a shift, a change, can be exhausting. Let's remember, "God's timing is never late, and never wrong." Let's also be thankful that God put within our community here a man who showed tremendous patience "long-suffereing" and it is paying off: S&C.

S&C,
Thank you for being an example to all of us of God's Grace and Mercy and, that we need to not only acquire, but embrace patience and work on ourselves and leave our spouses in His Almighty Hands.
btw, I have always wanted to visit Hawaii. Got an extra bed (furture 2nd honeymoon)

RicherdF,
Welcome. I will add your name to our weekly Prayer List. You have come to great place, at a great time, for encouragement, support, love and God's Blessings.

lupo,
Good to see you here. Sorry to hear about your arms. I can only imagine the pain you are going through. I will pray that your arms will become stronger so that you can do your job and live with out pain.

Dzzzz (and OHIT),
I was going through some old photos (looking for sexy - not vulgar - ones of my wife) so I can have them on my PC. During my search, I found old pics of the dogs I have had (Butch - a golden lab, and Princess - a black lab). I really miss them. We have a siamese cat, BUT nothing is like a dog.

h98,
Treasure those moments. Keep them in your heart, next to God, to help you when you feel down. I will keep him in my prayers for his knee.

bfg,
Good to hear from you, and to see how God is working in your life (your praise reports).

hpk,
I am praying for you and your marriage.

btw, I finished the "Purpose" book in 40 days. First commitment I have kept in a long time. I left a message with my pastor that I want to give back to the church, for their prayers and support, and lead a 40-week meeting on this book. His will be done.

All Loving Father. You have brought us all here for a purpose; Your Purpose. You have grown this ministry week by week, as we come together to praise You and to pray to you for the restoration of our marriages and, for many of us, the salvation of our spouses.

We ask that you bestow upon us the "fruits of the Holy Spirit": love, joy, peace, longsuffering, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness, kindness, and selfcontrol - to use in our marriages, lives and relationships.

If nothing ever changed in our marriages or our lives, we will always be thankful for Your Son, dying on the cross so that we may enjoy eternity with You in Heaven.

We know, in our hearts, that Your plan for us is PERFECT. And being the humans we are, we become impatient and lack the understanding of why we are going through enormous emotional, physical and mental anguish. As Christ bathed us with His Most Precious Blood to ransome our lives from sin, we now ask that You bathe us with Your Love and Mercy to help us "accept" what we are going through.

We ask that You build a hedge of thorns around our spouses so that Satan does not tempt them into doing more evil against You and our marriages. We also ask that you continue to test us, although it does hurt, so that we continue to grow Christlike in character and can be a testament to Your Unconditional Love.

We pray now for those who do not beleive in You or Your Son, Jesus Christ. Not only our spouses, but for all peoples throughout the world. Especially those that are sick and dying. We pray that You will send one of Your Elect into their lives so that they may be saved.

We pray that You surround those gathered here before You, who are Mothers and Fathers, to protest those innocent little ones from the pain we are going through as we work on restoring our marriages.

But we ask this as not our wills, but as THY WILL BE DONE!

All Honor, Glory and Worship is given You and Your Most Holy Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior and Master of our lives. We ask this through Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

I think you're going to need quite a few beds, s&c, as many of us are pretty "jealous" of you & that beachhouse & want a taste of good ole Hawaii!!! And ttsmm is so right. You're an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for showing us the way to walk humbly with God and endure patience. I believe I'm learning patience (I was super-impatient before H left) but I have a ways to go yet. Pray I can withstand like you have.

Yep .. dogs are truly the best things since sliced cat!! Um .. I mean bread .. lol

I really miss having one. I have always had two at a time. An outside one and a little ankle biter. Sigh ....

God has one, for me, I just have to wait to find him/her.
