After my WH left last year I fell back to my knees, rededicated my life, was finally baptized and am back on the right road.

All last year I did the devotional: "Moments Together...a Couple's Devotional Book". what a great book. So wish my WH would have done it with me 8 years ago when I bought it. If I'm ever invited to a wedding, that's gonna be my gift!

OK, so now, here I am, in a new year and need a new book. I'm looking for something geared toward single moms, divorced women, something to help me. I like the ones dated for the whole year.

Any suggestions? I've gotta get started! The year's already started.

I continue to do my Charles Stanley one every day!

Thanks!

Hi there,

You've noticed, I'm sure, that it isn't very busy on this part of the forum. I check in from time to time and saw your post.

I have a devotional I really love, called Woman to Woman: Click Here to view. It isn't for divorced or single women, it's just for women. I've seen Joyce Meyer in person and she's very warm and funny. Her books are the same. Also very matter-of-fact and Bible based.

Let me know if you get it and what you think!

Hey, would you be interested in doing it together? I would. The book Woman to Woman sounds interesting. I've watched Joyce Meyer on tv, I really like her.

If you are looking for an assortment of suggestions, I also like Beth Moore. I've worked through a few of her books with groups from church. Awesome. And I've got a women's devotional Bible, that has a guide for reading it through in one year, with a devotional for each day also.

Hi jayne,

I would be interested but my time is very limited, plus I have no internet at home. Still, if you have patience and lots of time to allow me to miss a day here or there (and the weekends)...

I am totally in awe of Beth Moore. Every time I watch her on TV I'm enthrawled (if that's the word). She has such a great attitude and presense! Which of her books do you like best? I just "found her" and was going to visit the bookstore soon. My H even enjoys watching her with me. She's so *right on!* in her teachings.

Let me know!

Hi NBII!

Sorry I didn't check back here for a few days... so yes you missing a day here or there is fine by me if it's fine by you! If I know that we are going to do this, I'll remember to check in more often.

Yes, I think Beth Moore is awesome, she's honest and authentic. Do you watch her on James Robison? When I was a kid, James Robison came to our church (a looooong time ago!) for a revival.

I think Joyce Meyer is authentic too. I admire both of those women for their strength and truthfulness. Unlike so many televangelists, I really think they are honest.

I also admire how they can stand for so long in heels! ROFL

I've done Beth Moore's one about the OT Temple, and the one about Daniel - I think that was my favorite. I started the one about the fruit of the spirit, but we left for the summer and I didn't complete it. (I was doing it with a small group from church.)

So, how do we start? If we're really going to do this, I'll go ahead and order Woman to Woman, ok?

Hey...yeah, I'm "kinda" here. Got a lot going on right now.

I'll look at that book when I go to the Family Christian store this weekend.

Not great with my MB acronyms. I just updated it, 2/5/08 is DV-Day

Oh, you're fine. It's just ticking down to the day. I'm trying to clean out my house, get it on the market and house hunt. Just the stuff that goes with divorce!
