(and anyone one else that might be familiar)

Didn't you mention the book Body for Life for Women? Do you have the book or the audio?

Please tell me about it. Has it been helpful?

I listened to the audio..while working out..of all things...

It mostly has healthy living/healthy lifestyle tips..not a workout program..

So I would say it's OK...

A better book with the same info, IMO, is Younger Next Year ( for Women)

Full title is Younger Next Year*: A Guide to Living Like 50 until You're 80 and Beyond ... *turn back your biological clock...

You see, this book focuses on our age group whereas Body for Life talks about all age groups...I had to fast forward it...

It really is a guide as indicated by the title..giving specific recommendations regarding amount and types of aerobic exercise, strength training, nutrition, etc. in order to slow down the process of aging and to maintain good health.

For example, they specifically recommend a heart monitor when exercising to make sure that you are working out effectively. I bought one and use it regularly. I was surprised what a difference it makes in alerting me of the need to speed up or slow down...

What kind of heart monitor. Is it accurate?

LOL..I didn't know such a thing existed either until recently.

You can buy them at sporting goods stores. We have a [censored]'S here where I bought mine. They also have them at my health club.

You wear a band ..sort of like a belt..under your breasts..

It comes with a watch which keeps up with the time and your heart rate from a sensor in the band...

When first setting it up, you log in your Date of Birth on the watch so the watch can determine your recommended heartrate in order to stay WITHIN THE ZONE..

Each time when beginning your workout, press START on the watch and it begins timing, determines your heartrate, and beeps when you are under or over your recommended exercise zone...

THE WONDERS OF MODERN SCIENCE....
