A while back, I read a post from someone that said that he had married a woman who had been in an abusive relationship prior to being married to him. He made the observation after she had left him that she would not have married him had he not been a stabilizing, nurturing, and gentle contrast to the beast she had just left. She realized this years later, and consequently, left him becuase he really wasn't right for her, but filled an immediate need in her. I am trying to find this post or thread again, but I don't remember who this was that said this! I have tried to do searches but to no avail. Part of me thinks it is GnomeDePlume, but I am not sure.
