As you can see from my signature, my dh is *possibly* the father of an oc.

Get this, about 3 weeks ago, the exow asked my BROTHER-IN-LAW for a paternity test. NOT my dh. He refused. She told him that she didn't want any money, just to be able to tell her child who the dad is. (why would she need a test if she's so sure??) Apparently, she told him that she knew that the child was his and that if he wouldn't take the test, she'd go thru child support.

From what I know, he hasn't received any papers in the mail. Do any of you know how long it takes to get the ball rolling on that?

I have no idea why she would've claimed that my dh was the father and told me all the things that she did, when she knew that my dh's BROTHER was the father. I don't understand why she'd put herself and all of us thru that. Especially because some people find me rather intimidating and would never want to get me too angry. (which I find funny! I don't see myself that way, but know that she did)

Please keep me and my family in your prayers. I am not counting my blessings yet, but if that boy ends up not being my dh's, I will feel that a true miracle has occurred! But WHY hasn't my bil received any papers yet and what the hell is she thinking?????
Gosh, it has been so long ago that I don't remember how long it takes for the court to contact the named father for the blood test??? Since it sounds like xOW is so sure that it's your BIL's OC, try not to worry too much and enjoy your holiday season with your family! It already sounds like your H may be off the hook for any CS...

Who knows what she is, was, or will be thinking having these affairs, but at least she is trying to think ahead and consider this OCs future?! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Hello,
I hope that your DH is off the hook soon!

As for contacting your BIL I know in normal cirumstances it takes about a month, but depending how their case load is it can take longer. I would give it three months if they did not send anything to your BIL then she probably did not file! Unless, she does not know where he lives or works.

I don't know, something just isn't adding up here. Forgive me, I am not familiar with your story. The OW first said the child was your husband's? Did he acknowlege that it was? Was there a paternity test to decide?

Then she says, no, it is your brother's baby (sounds like a soap opera!). He won't take a test.

If your husband refused a test, she might have tried to get the brother's DNA just to prove there was the BIL was a blood relation to her child (and perhaps she thought it would prove your H was the child's fathr?). I don't know, it is just too screwy!

Snowbelle,
I just wanted to say that both her H and her BIL had sex with ex-OW. And ex-OW claimed it was her H, but there has never been any DNA testing to prove it. I guess now ex-OW claims that the OC is her BIL after 4 years saying it was her H.

Thanks for clarifying, Dawn. You are right.

Snowbelle, I was thinking the *same* thing!!!

My dh never refused a test, BUT when I found out that she had also slept with my dh's brother, I told her that I would not allow a (private) test with my dh *without* also testing brother because it could be too close of a match.

Apparently, nobody has received any papers yet, so I don't know. I think that I will call her after Christmas and ask her what she's doing.

Thanks for your replies!
