Go ahead and go to nursing school hon. It's a great way to support yourself and your kids and you'll never lack for hundreds of choices of jobs. Ya know, most nurses know which MDs are slimy cheats before their wives do and wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole if you gave them a million dollars.

Most MDs are far from a good catch for someone who wants a stable home and marriage and a husband that is home regularly. Good luck to you!

I don't if I will do it but I have found mydelf thinking about it for the last year or two adn I know it is a great income and I like that kinda stuff--not grossed out by stuff like that--maybe because I was raised on a farm. Any how I have two years left on a four-year scholarship that I can use at anytime--when I got my BS in Economics I went to CCollege first and had one-year scholar for that CC and then paid for one year and then when I went to ORegon State Univ. I used two years of my scholarship--thought I could save it for a rainy day.

I have to get the rest of my life figured out and back to some sort of normalcy before I would jump out of my job--money is important right now--but would love to do the nursing program.

In Ca where I live the state will pay 100% of your way through an ADN program, if you agree to go back and finish your BSN within 2 years. This is because there is such a severe shortage of nurses. My advice to anyone considering nursing school is to not stop at an ADN. You have many many more options outside of the hospital setting if you've got your BSN and more if you've got a Masters. After working years in the hospital I work part time for the county in a consulting position and do some side contract work consulting as well. You can be creative and devise scheduling that allows you much freedom and flexibility and you can make as much as some docs do.

You are young, go for it before you have anymore kids! You will never regret it. All the best to you.
