A Canadian woman is suing a mobile phone company after her husband discovered she was having an affair through her itemized phone bill and left her.

Gabriella Nagy, 35, is seeking 600,000 Canadian dollars (405,475) from Rogers Wireless for invasion of privacy and breach of contract, according to reports.

In court documents Ms Nagy claimed she had asked the phone company to send her bill in her name to her home, but it was instead bundled with the couple's television, Internet and home phone bill in her husband's name

The husband became suspicious when he noticed a number frequently called on the bill and, after dialing it, was told by a man who answered that he recently had a three-week affair with Nagy. He left Nagy and their children in August 2007.

"The affair was over," Ms Nagy told Canwest News Service. "The thing that really hurt me is that it all came out not through my own doing."

She blamed Rogers for the breakup, for having "breached my privacy."

"I entrusted them with my personal information," she said.

Rogers replied, saying it had consolidated the bills at the couple's request.

"We cannot be responsible for the personal decisions made by our customers," a spokesman said.

"The marriage breakup and its effects happened, or alternatively, would in any event have happened, regardless of the form in which the plaintiff and her husband received their invoices," the company said in a statement of defense.

No, it was you DOING another man that made it all "come out". MrRollieEyes

<Pun intended>
Seriously, talk about NOT owning your own bad*ss decisions and blameshifting your idiotic choices onto...a phone company?

What next?!?!
Well, we had "speed" cameras and red light cameras here too. There was a guy who had one of these pictures sent to his home. His wife opened it and you guessed it, he was with OW in a place he wasn't supposed to be in. There were people who wanted them removed too, because of "PRIVACY." The privacy laws here are interesting. We'll have to see if this goes anywhere. Just because she filed a suit, it doesn't mean it will even go to court. HA what a JOKE.
All,

"I entrusted them with my personal information,"

Gosh she confides in a PHONE COMPANY over her husband? Reading between the lines she also LIED to the OM who was shocked and spilled the beans to her poor husband.

Poor woman also lost a "friend" she could email twice a year and would be on call for the next round.

Should she win money her husband should sue her for mental cruelty and involuntary forced weight loss.

I think more than her privacy was "breached"! sick
Just has something similar almost happen to me. Tee hee...

Called the insurance co. to change some info with them. They said, "Just one moment, Mrs. POSWXH" and put me on hold. A few moments later she came back and I began to give them the new info. After a few minutes, she asked me if these were changes to POSWXH's car or mine. I said that POSWXH shouldn't even be on my insurance policy. She informed me that he owned it and that I was just a second driver!!!! Anyway, after a few moments of confusion, we realized that she had WXH and OW's policy out rather than my own!!! She basically gave me access to a policy not owned by me, and in fact, I'm not even the current spouse. I literally could have taken either one of them off the policy, changed what kind of car they drove (wonder what insurance on a Corvette costs?), or simply added my own car to his policy. Over the phone!!!

Interestingly enough, my legal name is Mrs. POSWXH. OW's legal name is Mrs. OWH. However, as they are commonlaw, she is the spouse. I'm not sure exactly what the law says regarding privacy (i.e. is spouse opening mail just as illegal as someone else), but it's not uncommon for businesses to deal with spouses on these matters. On the other hand, I know of 2 that for certain will not deal with the spouse of the person whose name is on the account.
Whoops, I already posted something about this story in the OT section the other day, ha ha. Wonder if the mods can link our threads together (although I don't think I even got any responses to mine, lol) or just delete mine altogether.

Yeah, what a story, hey? Screw around, get caught and then place the blame somewhere other then on yourself. Go figure! What a silly woman (if you care to even call her that).
