A new law passed yesterday in BC that starts on Monday. I cant believe it.

Seems like a lawyer cash grab. But at the same time it will make people really think about moving in together because after 2 years living together your partner is entitled to 50% of EVERYTHING ... inheritances, savings property etc. Just as if you were married. It never used to be this way. This is good news to some .. and bad news to many more I bet.

Mind boggling. I wonder how property is divided if either of the persons is STILL legally married to someone else? Scotland's WH comes to mind.
Any Mormons here? This might be a way to return to polygamy! Two years living with Amy, Becky, and Charlotte, all at once and...PRESTO....

So, Canada is legalizing it while the US is doing away with it.

Hrmph! Another 17 days and I'll be a legal woman. For reals.
