I've been visiting this site for a few days now, and I'm very impressed. The messages seem to speak to several serious faults of mine, and my girlfriend's. We are, obviously, not yet married, but I believe that we should be someday. However, an episode of infidelity and a pattern of lying on my part have threatened our relationship. I'm desperate to put things right, and to really treat her the way she's always deserved. She's having a very difficult time believing that she can ever trust me again, and I've gotten her to agree to counseling.
Given that I have felt a connection to Dr. Hurley's writings, how can I find a counselor in the Dallas, TX area who uses his methods? Is it common for people to ask a counselor to use another person's theories while advising a couple?
I'm totally committed to making the changes in myself necessary to spend a happy life with my girlfriend, but I need help getting over this hump. Thanks in advance for any help...

Davidge,
If you call the MarriageBuilder's office (888-639-1639), you can ask them for a referral for someone who uses Dr. Harley's methodology who practices in your area.
If this is unsuccessful, I would suggest that you try their [url=http://www.marriagebuilders.com/graphic/mbi7000_counsel.html)phone counseling[/url] (same number). The counselors are Dr. Harley's "kids", Steve and Jennifer, and they're both highly qualified as well as intimately familiar with the MarriageBuilder techniques (Steve administrates this website and the newsletter in his "spare time", and Jennifer was a co-author on "Surviving an Affair"). I've counseled with Steve, and I found the counseling to be extremely effective in changing my behaviors. It's also extraordinarly convenient and relatively inexpensive.

Thanks a lot for your reply! People here have, so far, seemed very willing to share their experiences and help others improve their relationships. Thanks again!
