Hello, friends.
Holidays are a very difficult time for most of us, heck, lots of days are pretty difficult these days.
Anyway, for a while now, we've lit candles, in Virginia and Nebraska to help each other get through these times.
For those of us who pray, we've been praying for our spouses, ourselves, our friends.
We invite you to join us if you like....
A prayer candle for those we love, those who are lost.
A reminder candle for those who are rebuilding, of the wonderful thing you are undertaking.
A reminder of all our blessings, even in these hard times.
A candle for strength, on those days that seem to go on forever.
Everytime I pass my candle, I say a prayer for my husband and my family and friends. I tell him that I love him - even though he's not here to hear it.
Anyway, that's what we're doing. And all are welcome to join us. We believe there is strength and power in numbers. You are all in our prayers.
Lori and Cheryl

Great idea!

I've filled my mantle on my fireplace with candles, and most my windows where my lil tike can't get hold of em and burn the place down..*S*
Tonight, my son and I sat and watched the glow come from the mantle of all the candles I put up there, I put one for every close person who has passed on from this wretched life, and one for each of my immediate family , one for my son, and also lit my marriage union candle even though H is out on a party without me again. And my son and I sat and sang and for a 2 year old, I was quite amazed that he sat with me for almost two hours, talking in a whisper and pointing and hugging and kissing.
Great plan, my son and I will both sleep sounder tonight. And I enjoyed the peacefullness of thinking about my loved ones who have gone on to a much better place.
I will carry this on with my other friends in need here in Canada.
God Bless you all! Well, I've got Texas covered. Only 38 more states to go, & God knows how many countries. But, I guess we can't count all of them as some cultures condone polygamy. Then again, we might not be able to count Utah, either, he, he he!
(No offense to those of you who might reside there, just a feeble attempt at a joke.)

Ohio is covered! Great idea...I love candles and now I have a special prayer I will say for each candle I light. I'm going to start a tradition with my daughter and each night we are going to light a candle together and say a prayer! She usually sings happy birthday when she sees a candle...too cute!

Yes, the holidays are over - but are they? V-day is coming - happy for some, sad for others. I'd like to take care of TN and KY since I bounce back and forth between the two constantly. I've got plenty of candles in both places!

Oh my gosh. I threw out the count of states & countries during one of my housecleaning frenzies. Seems to me the last count around Christmas for states was in the 30's. Countries, if I remember rightly were Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Texas. Ha, ha, just kidding. They just think it's a whole nother country!!
