In about half an hour, Sailorman will be taking yet another advancement exam! He past the last one, but when the package went up to the review board, he was not chosen to advance(military crap!) He had to drive w/another co-worker two hours away to the main office to take this test, and we won't know the results for a couple months. Then, if he passes again, it will be another few months before the board looks at it! Sailorman has worked his butt off at the last duty station, and got a bad wrap from one of his superior officers that's kept him from going any further! I just pray that this last eval is good enough to call some attention to what he's done!

He's also taking on this new "job" at the office(which is in the mall believe it or not) and is a little stressed over it. The guy that he's replacing doesn't leave till the end of April, so it will be a "long" transition period. He will basically be in charge of all recruiting for this part of the state(for the Navy)! His furthest city is about 1 1/2 hours away, so there will be a little bit of seperation periods, but not more than 2 days and 1 night(for the average). I am excited about this new duty, and who knows, we may stay here(our oldest will be starting high school in a year and a half and we aren't sure about moving during that time of his life!)

Oh, and for those of you who are wondering how we are adjusting to actually having a winter, it's been great! We had snow the first Mon, but it's all melted now, except for certain areas, and that's all ice now. Every time Abbi sees a patch, she says, "Mommy, mommy!!! Look, it 'nowing!!"

I hope everyone is doing well, and thanks in advance for the prayers for Sailorman!

Love,

Tigger

Thank you all for the prayers. Sailorman is still stressing over taking over this office, and one of the guys isn't pulling his weight either! I guess it's the worst time for him to start the taking over process right now! The whole "zone" is stressed since they are way behind where they should be for the month, and that ends up falling on the "supervisor" for each office, which is what he's taking over! He's so stressed, that he snapped at me to stop giving him advice this morning before he left, so I bit my tongue, and told him I loved him and I'd see him tonight! I just hope that it gets better!

Gem,

Hey, I was wondering how you were! I didn't know about your mom's problems till I read the post to Katie S in the other thread! I am sorry for you, but glad that she has you for support during this time! I will also keep the snow, if it's like this every winter! It only stuck around for about 3-4 days, with the patches getting smaller each day! Just enough to play in and enjoy! My sister says it's pretty much like that(she went to college here) and that we would love it here. So far, she's right! How are your twins doing? I did see your post that you guys could have been hired in Vegas in a heartbeat! I bet that would throw H for a loop!

Angelia,

From one military W to another, thanks for the prayers! I always feel a "connection" with other military W's, as only someone who's been through these kinds of seperations can truly understand what we go through! Along w/the constant moving around! I wasn't on the boards when you first arrived, so let me give you my welcome now!

Stacia,

My loving and loyal friend! Thank you SO much for your continued prayers and support! You don't know how much they have helped, and will help! You know I love ya!

Robbed,

As with Angelia, I wasn't around when you first came to this board, and want to welcome you as well! Thank you too for the prayer support!

Joshmom,

Thank you, too, for your support! I have lurked, occasionally, at "your" board, and feel that you are one with some class! I do hold respect for you.

Ok, enough written, just wanted to thank you all, and sorta update you. Of course, won't know the results for about 2 months, so will be waiting till then. Nothing we can do about it now

Well, Sailorman just found out that he made the next step to making E-7! Of course, now the major waiting game starts! In the Navy, after you make board, you have to get your package together and send it to the board, which reviews all the packages in July! UUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

Well, he feels that he has a much greater chance of making rank this year than he did last year! I am just so happy that he did well enough, since he'd been too busy to study with school in FL and then moving up here!

Just thought I'd give you all the update.

tigger4jdt,
Good luck to Sailorman! I'll bet they will look over the package and he'll pass!

Sorry it's taken a month to answer....

Twins will be 2 Feb 26th and they are just fine.

It's been hard with my Mom. In fact I'm going over today. Her speech is rapidly failing and her left arm is too weak to pull on her pants now. We are still planning her birthday party in May with family and friends.....I'm sure it's hardest on her. She has to go through it. With ALS or Lou Gehrigs Disease, the patient knows whats going on, their minds remain sharp. Hideous is how I describe it. She has faith and that has helped her to accept things.

Bless you tigger4jdt.

Tigger,
I've heard many times how stressful recruiting duty is. I hope Sailorman makes rank despite the insanity. I'm sure he's working hard. How's your little bean? I bet she's getting big!

My own H is back home after a year of deployments--celebrating around here!

Best wishes,
J

Gem,

I know how busy you are, and that you don't spend as much time around here as you used to! I really do feel bad for your mom! How awful to know everything that's going on around you, but being unable to do anything to participate! Again, I'm glad that you can be there for your mom! Tell the "Twins" happy B-day from Tigger!

Joshmom,

Thank you for the congrats! Sailorman told me last night that we actually won't know if he made the next rank till August!!!! UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Jenny,

First and foremost I want to say congrats to you having H finally home!!!!!! You enjoy that time with him! As to recruiter duty being hard, well, at least he's home every night! More than when we was attached to a ship! There are some nights when he won't be home due to having to take an enlistee to the main office. We did this duty before we moved to HI, and it wasn't has hard as most make it seem. He said that making rank will definately make this duty a lot easier! And finally, Abbi is growing by leaps and bounds! Just like our older 2 children, she is very verbal, and will let you know what she's feeling! What I love the most about that is when she is singing her little songs! I have no idea what she's singing, but she puts her all into it!

Again, thank you all for your support, and when we find out, I'll post about it! Of course, by then, most will have forgotten about it

Well, Sailorman should know in 1-2 weeks if he made it or not! He came home the other day for lunch and said that with the ratio, and the special considerations, it's looking VERY good that he could be an E-7 by the end of this month or beginning of next month! I really hope he does, as he's worked his butt off for it!

Just wanted to update as the time is near!

I know how you feel!!!! Just think what I'm going through with all this waiting, and especially Sailorman!!!! Don't worry, you guys will probably be notified first, as some of the family will be at work, and I can type as I'm talking to Sailorman!!!!

I did ask him 2 nights ago, and he said it COULD be as late as Aug 8!!!! But the last couple years, they have finished w/the board early, around the end of July! SOOOOOOOOO, I will keep everyone informed!!!!

Still no news, and it's killing me to wait!!!! I even asked if he'd looked on Mon, and he said he's not going to worry about it yet!!!! I just wish that we knew for sure! Oh well, could be as late as Aug 8, so continued prayers/good thoughts are still appreciated
