I think we need a new format. Doing the daily seranade could get a bit tired, and you might start throwing things at me after while. If nobody objects I'll just post one when the mood hits, and if someone is in need of the special treatment of me singing to them every day for a week then I'll get them good.<p>In honor of the start of camping season...<p>On Top of Spaghetti<p>On top of spaghetti
All covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball,
When somebody sneezed.<p>It rolled off the table
And onto the floor,
And then my poor meatball
Rolled out of the door.<p>It rolled in the garden
And under a bush,
And then my poor meatball
Was nothing but mush.<p>The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be,
And then the next summer
It grew into a tree.<p>The tree was all covered,
All covered with moss,
And on it grew meatballs,
And tomato sauce.<p>So if you eat spaghetti
All covered with cheese,
Hold onto your meatball
Lest somebody sneeze

Justthewife,<p>Wow! This was one of the primary "request" songs for my daughter when she was young. She didn't want too many standard songs, but wanted ones made just for her.<p>Since I only knew the first two verses I had to make up a bunch more... You can do lots of great stuff with the "Meatball song".<p>It rolled down the driveway
and into the street.
I tried hard to block it,
but it missed my feet.<p>It rolled down the gutter
then into a drain.
Boy, chasing this meatball
it sure is a pain.<p> <p>Jeffers

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!<p>Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!<p>When I'm stuck with a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh<p>The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'til tomorrow
Come what may<p>Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love ya
Tomorrow!<p>You're always
A day
A way!<p>Come 'n listen to my story 'bout a man named Jed<p>Poor Mountaineer barely kept his family fed<p>An' then one day, he was shootin' at some food,<p>An' up thru the ground came a bubblin' crude.<p>Oil that is! Black gold! Texas tea!<p> <p>Well, the first thing ya know, Jed's a millionaire<p>Kin-folk said, "Jed, move away from there." Said<p>Californy is the place y'oughta be, so they<p>loaded up the truck, and they moved to Beverly.<p>Hills that is! Swimmin' pools, Movie stars!<p> <p>Ol' Jed bought a mansion. Lawdy it was swank<p>Next door neighbor was pres'dent of the bank,<p>Lotsa folks objected, but the banker found no fault,<p>'Cause ol' Jed's millions was a-layin' in the vault<p>Cash, that is! Capital gains, Depletion money!<p> <p>Well now it's time to say goodbye to Jed and all his kin<p>An' they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin' in.<p>You're all invited back again to this locality,<p>T'have a heapin' helpin' of their hospitality.<p>Hillbilly, that is! Set a spell, Take your shoes off!<p>Y'all come back, here!

hey resilient,<p>I'm reading this thread and "Let Me Hold it Open" came on. LOL.<p>I can probably think of some good songs, but right now all I have are anti-relationship songs. Sorry, it just struck me funny.

An intermission while JTW rests her voice... and will hopefully be back to sing some more for us!! <p>Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale
a tale of a fateful trip
that started from this Tropic Port
aboard this tiny ship<p>The mate was a mighty sailing man
The skipper brave and sure
5 passengers that sailed that day
for a 3 hour tour... a 3 hour tour<p><<<crashhhhhh>>><p>The weather started getting rough
The tiny ship was tossed
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
the Minnow would be lost... the Minnow would be lost<p>THe ship's aground on the shore of this uncharted desert-isle
With Gilligan..... the Skipper too.... the Millionaire.... and his Wife....
The Movie-Star... the Professor, and Mary-Ann
Here on Gilligan's Isle!!!<p>So join us here each week my friend
You're sure to get a smile
From seven stranded castaways
Here on Gilligan's Isle!<p>[ May 15, 2002: Message edited by: Faith1 ]</p>

Just for Resilient....<p>An angry person sings this song. (It's a man, but the ladies can sing too.)<p>"Let Me Hold it Open" by Cowboy Mouth.<p>
You bite my neck when I try to kiss you
You slap my face when I say I miss you<p>
Now I have lived through all this before
And I don't plan to take any more
So if you want to walk out the door
Then let me hold it open for you<p>I've taken more than I'm gonna take
You've broken more than you're gonna break
So if you want to make this mistake
Then let me hold it open for you<p>
I've got to wonder why did you choose me
You say you love me just to confuse me<p>
Now I have been through this crap before
And I don't plan to take any more
So if you want to make this mistake
Then let me hold it open for you<p>I've taken more than I'm gonna take
You've broken more than you're gonna break
So if you want to make this mistake
Then let me hold it open for you<p>
I'm the one who kept your world afloat
Had the sense to hope for a better way of life but
This is how you try to pay me back
With your sly attacks and the subtle
Ways you bring me down<p>
I have lived through this crap before
And I don't plan to take any more
So if you want to walk out the door
Then let me hold it open for you<p>I've taken more than I'm gonna take
You've broken more than you're gonna break
So if you want to make this mistake
Then let me hold it open for you
<p>I'd like to go back to my original name, but then I'll be found out again. Can't have that...

OK, here's a fun one. Especially for those with small children.<p>"Baby's Got the Car Keys" Trout Fishing in America<p>
Daddy put the keys in his pocket when he walked into the house
And then he put 'em on the table by the telephone
He thinks that's where he left 'em, he really isn't sure
He knows he had to have 'em just to get inside the door
Mom's in the kitchen looking on the shelf
She says this kind of panic is a hazard to her health<p>Time to go to work, time to go to school
And everybody's looking like a fool<p>Baby's got the car keys and she's crawling down the hall
She's a cute little pickpocket, sticky finger, goldilocks
And she's not even three feet tall<p>She puts 'em in the toy box, rattles 'em around
Drops 'em down her diapers, now they can't be found<p>Time to go to work, time to go to school
And everybody's looking like a fool<p>Digging in the sofa gets a dollar fifty cents
A toothpick, a candy bar, a dozen fountain pens
Chaos in the living room, disaster in the den
Sister says she saw 'em but she can't say when
Tick tock the car is locked, Daddy's going into shock
Smelling dirty diapers on the breeze
Dad says to change it, the baby's gotta wait
Until they find those dadgum keys<p>Baby's got the car keys and she's crawling down the hall
She's a cute little pickpocket, sticky finger, goldilocks
And she's not even three feet tall<p>The baby starts to giggle, there's something in her hand
That booger drops the wallet down the garbage can<p>Time to go to work, time to go to school
And everybody's looking like a fool<p>Mom's on the telephone trying to call a cab
Daddy's changing baby's diaper in the living room
The baby's on the table with a bottle in her mouth
Daddy opens up the diaper, he begins to shout
Treasure in the diaper, treasure in the muck
It sure looks a lot like the keys to the truck<p>Time to go to work, time to go to school
And everybody's looking like a fool<p>Baby's got the car keys and she had 'em all along
She's a cute little pickpocket, sticky finger, goldilocks
And she's not even three feet tall<p>The party isn't over they're about to find out
Daddy threw away his wallet when he took the garbage out<p>Time to go to work, time to go to school
And everybody's looking like a fool<p>Time to go to work, time to go to school
Everybody's looking just like a fool
<p>
For those with kids under 7 or 8, these guys are really funny. The songs are really imaginative and the adults can listen to them with going crazy.

A serious and beautiful song is called "Wait for Me" by Rebecca St. James and it captures the spirit of the MB way. I'm listening to it now and it is so gooood. I don't have the lyrics in front of me but it's nice.<p>You can get it on Wow Hits 2002 or her own release.

Hey JusttheWife ... is there a song out there called ... "My ex-H is a Spineless [censored]"?<p>Nope, but I'll make one up.
It's a country sounding ditty...<p>My X is a spineless [censored]
he's got a constant hanker
for anything with boobs<p>My X is a spineless [censored]
and his bimbo is a little tanker
too bad she has 12 toes<p>I shouldda offed him when I had the chance
then maybe perchance
I wouldn't have to sing this song<p>One of these days
he'll come out of his haze
and realize that he's a jerk<p>
Maybe I hit the cough syrup a little hard this morning.....<p>E
