Hi JR ~ I hope you are still thinking
Yes, you may have reason to contact your wife in Plan B, regarding finances, legalities, and childcare. Logistics, that's about it.
The rest of your life is no longer her business. Unless you are planning to spend the rest of your life keeping your wife in the loop? Are you going to spend the rest of your life worrying about her ENs and if she's lovebusted? I'm not suggesting that you turn thoughtless, selfish, and go on a LB spree - but you DO need to go on with living and your own family relationships. This is a consequence, LB or no. You have every right to tell your parents (I still think you have the right to ask them to cooperate with you by not talking to her family, but thats your call).
Think about Surviving an Affair - when Jon cut Sue off financially. Sure it was LB when he stopped financing her affair!
The ONLY thing is that you did promise to give her warning...so that I am unsure about. If you hadn't promised I'd say NO CONTACT darn it!
Anyway - I do think you got alot of rationalizing going on When do you talk to Steve next?

quote:
My main drain right now is based on resentment over everything - not an expectation.

Resentments are BUILT on expectations. When our expectations do not play out the way we wanted, resentments build.
Do you have a copy of "The Language of Letting Go" by Melody Beattie?
There's alot in there on expectations and resentments, it would be a fantastic read for you right now. You are right, this is another learning process - and as you are discovering, a brand new roller coaster ride.
You can do this, it will just take more work - the BS's work is never done!
