Sorry, I worded that a bit wrong. . .
"No problems keeping it up! Usually, unless one of us is unusually tired."
The Usually, unless one of us is unusually tired part was in reference to the Daily? Meaning, that usually daily, unless one of us is unusally tired. The first half of that - no problems keeping it up!
Don't know how much help I can be, but if she'd want to talk I'd love to help if I can. Hey, a pool could be a step in the right direction. I'm just waiting for the nights to get warmer so we can use our birthday suits to swim.
We tend to get close and personal in the pool. It's nice. Then again, we tend to get close and personal in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom, just about anywhere in the house.
Now, on a serious note, I love to swim and so does our son. My DH used to be a life guard, and the pool give us some good quality time together as a family. It's realy nice, and we love it so far.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Shoot, I tried to email but it came back undeliverable. I think Ivillage did something different with their email addy's.
email was as follows:
Hey!! So glad to hear things are going so well with you and hubby! My H and I have a date today too! Well...technically we're taking the vehicle to be serviced...but it will give us plenty of time together and he didn't have to go with! I just ordere His Needs Her Needs and a workbook that goes along with it, so I'm taking that along. So, about the pool. Did you guys go with above ground or in ground? We live in the country and my main worry about an above ground pool would be whether or not we can keep it clean enough! If we did an in ground we could close it in. But then there are several types of in ground too...fiberglass or poured etc... I guess give me the scoop on what you guys went with and why, and I'll shoot some questions from there, if you don't mind. Thanks!!!!
Anyway, if you want to respond via email my hotmail addy is parent_talk@hotmail.com...otherwise we could just go very OT here, LOL! THANKS!!!!

OT here works fine.
We got an above ground pool. Two reason I would guess. . . 1) money; and 2) we live in the city and there isn't enough room in our yard for a inground pool.
We have a 4 ft. x 15 ft. round pool. There are trees in both of our neighbors yards, so we do get our share of stuff. We have an earth filter, which is great and I would highly recommend it if you go with an above ground. We have a solar cover and that seems to keep some of the stuff out of the pool. Other than that, we have our net for skimming and a vaccuum for cleaning the things that settle on the bottom. I like the fact that it's not closed in because we can enjoy the summer sun. We are thinking about building a deck so our son can jump off it because jumping from the ladder may damage the pool.
As for heating... the solar cover seems to work quite well. Last time we were in the pool it was 86 degrees.
Hope this helps. If you have any questions, just ask, I'd be happy to share with you. Oh, we got our pool at a place called PoolTown. I don't know if you have any of those where you are, but they are really nice. We bought it as a package deal - we got everything, the pool, liner, solar cover, winter cover, skimmer, starting chemicals, vaccuum, and choice of filter/pump.
Take care.

Awesome, thanks for the info! Our biggest problem right now would be dust blowing in...but if we keep it covered when not in use I suppose that won't be as big of a problem. We have no trees here so leaves aren't an issue...bugs however are. The worst thing would be mud and dirt drug in by feet...so I think if we do this we'll have to have some sort of a walk up or a deck. We originally looked at Sears and Pennys, but decided to check at a pool and spa place. They were twice as high there, but they claimed to be more durable etc etc... Now I guess I'm not sure what to do. I was worried a 24' wouldn't be big enough! But I love to do laps. They had a 12x24 that was very enticing because of the shape. I guess we'll have to think more on it. The first step is to figure out where to put it. Thanks so much for the input! I just know it's something we would all enjoy!
