OK, I'll up the ante with nerlycrazy.

Before buying the Bahamian Christmas album I mentioned above, I bought the Brian Wilson "Pet Sounds Live" CD AND - get this - Natalie Cole's "Unforgetable," reprising her Dad's (Nat King Cole for you younsters) great old tunes. A very, very nice collection.

Read and weep with jealousy, WAT.

I SAW Brian Wilson (The Beachboys) when I was a mere youngster at the local roller skating rink! Ranked right up there with seeing Elvis (yes, WHEN he was alive, at a concert & not at the local 7/11!)

The last CD's I bought:

Meatloaf "Bat out of Hell" (since my cassette finally wore out)

and the new Paul McCartney release -- it's his old stuff. Mull of Kintyre makes me all gooshy...

On another note, I was thrilled to find out that stores are now - finally - carrying turntables! I'm SO glad we didn't throw out the old Elvis and Beatles ablums!

Hmmmm - what was the last CD I bought - I think it was Ry Cooder "Get Rhythm" (used to have it on LP) and "The Buena Vista Social Club" - very cool, old Cuban guys - awesome history behind it.

Actually, this could be an extension of this thread.

I also SAW Brian Wilson summer of 2001 - and got his autograph on a Pet Sounds album cover (thanks to a tip by MB'er Boomer). Of course, when you saw him, he prolly wasn't off his rocker yet. Top this: I've also seen, among others, The Everly Bros. with the Crickets AND Billy Preston with Blue Oyster Cult AND The Doobies, Loggins and Mesina, and Jim Croce - all together AND The Boss with Chicago AND.......

If you tell me you SAW the Beatles, I'll kiss anything else you have.

LOL. You got lucky!! No need to pucker up. Never saw the Beatles.

But I do still have my old collection of Beatle dolls. Does that count for anything? I bought them in the 60's for about $1.65 each and now they are about $400 for the set on eBay. Too darn bad I didn't buy them by the truckload and I could be retired now!! LOL

Resilient,

Here's a set for you -- on eBay..Beatles dolls

Not a bad price so far! Wonder how high they'll go?

I saw Janis Joplin at Pacific Ocean Park in California. It was a party night and my H's turn to be designated driver. Being the party animal I am (and was ), I had a few drinks and promptly fell asleep in the booth. He woke me to see Janis Joplin. I watched her sing part of one song and fell back alseep. Owww,,, I could kick myself now!!

WOW! I have a set of those Beatle dolls packed away in a box. I had no idea!

I also have this special pin that my grandmother gave me money to help me buy when I was a little girl. On the front it says "The Beatles" and has a picture of them... On the back it says Yea! Yea! Yea!
