Thanks, Lisa and Sharon- for your replies!
Tis better today, weekends are the worse for me.
Lisa,
You needn't worry , IMHO, that you aren't your SDs' blood relative. These girls and you obviously have a loving, special bond. I know you will forever. You'll never be replaced, nor will you lose those girls as stepdaughters. They're so lucky to have you in their lives.
My brother and his wife divorced ten years ago, but he is still very close to his stepdaughter--and she's an adult now. IT's so apparent how much you love them, and they need you so much.
Thanks for your support. I will focus on what I've learned. It could take several more years, for sure. The other night I joked with him about it taking five to ten years, and he said, "Not that long!" He then added, "YOu expect it tomorrow, and it can't be!"
Truly Lisa, when I ended it with OM over a year ago, it was like I thought I could push a button and have life back how it was. I remember exactly where I was, in my home, after I ended it and I thought, "That's done." It was evening in the same season it started, and when the affair started exH worked evenings. In my mind I thought, okay, now exH will be home soon, but of course then reality sunk in.
Thanks for your caring, you're so wonderful!
Sharon,
Glad that you're doing well. You know, I can't imagine how you feel about your marriage ending and your exH living with OM. I'm sorry, but in time it probably won't work out. These marriages/live in situations w/affairees rarely do.
Sorry about your son. One of mine is having struggles too. It is so difficult to see one's child suffer. My exH thinks it's odd that the problems would suffer now so late after separation, but I dont.
I'm happy that you're going to school! You start in just a few days. That's great too about your boyfriend. You deserve to be happy, and I'm glad things are going well with him. Don't worry that this will fail with him, like the marriage. We've all learned a lot, don't you think?
I do understand what you mean about needs. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
You can 'vent' anytime, don't worry about hijacking anything. This place is very helpful, isn't it. I don't talk about this stuff hardly at all anymore away from here.
ExOM hasn't called back. I doubt he will. What a manipulative man.
You're nice to compliment me on my strength. I actually feel weak inside, but I'm doing the best I can. I know that only weak people succumb to temptation the way I did instead of dealing with their spouse the right way. Truly, that may sound rough, but that's the truth as I see it.
The BS's are the ones who are the strong ones. I would find it hard to even stand if I were betrayed the way they are. Does that make sense?
Take care and thanks again for your support,
Hopeful
