wellll - married to a sr. master technician for ford...i used to think - i dont need to know anything...he will take care of it.
I also used to joke at supermarket when asked if I needed help out "thats why i brought him...see its MANual labor...not WOmanual labor..."
of course my BH LOVES cars...and works on them all day then restores them at night and on weekends...and I realized its a big love deposit if I
a)listen to what he says and remember it for later) b) help him work on cars.
So now i know what a FICM and a PCM is on a car...i know about pulling injectors...i know about transaxels and pistons and such.
AND i can help replace spark plugs, change the iol, change a tire, switch from drum brakes to four wheel disc break systems, running brake wiring.
my H says I bleed brakes better than any of the techns in his shop.
The best part is when I remember which diesel tow truck he was working on last week had which problem and ask questions.
I cant remember my name but I remember that the Als Towing truck threw a rod and had bolts so rusted he had to drill them out and it was a pain in the butt...All the import info I used to hold is nor replaces with bushings and chassis.....
Cut me and see I bleed transmission fluid (its red you know)....
ladies - if your check engine light goes on it is 1) probably triggered because you left your gas cap slightly open causing a vaccum leak. 2) one of the mutliple computers inyour car threw out a code...maff scensor or somethig
If you detach battery briefly and reattach - it will reset the pcm...if check engine light comes on again...you have a problem...get it checked....
hey - my mechanics so good...i sleep with him (my favorite joke - since hes my husband...maybe not funny anymore given whats transpired).

my H says I bleed brakes better than any of the techns in his shop. I am jealous... My wife actually was embarrassed of me and stated it as fact one time after a party. She used my profession and me more than anyone, but she thought that 'me being me' was too much at a party with her friends. She said, 'Just don't mention it.' Her friends were constantly asking me questions about everything. . . . . . . . . .I'm an MD

oh - your a doctor - it hurts when I bend my arm like this! oh - your a mechanic - my car makes a crunchgrind sound when i drive it over 90 mph in reverse....
same answer to both question - then dont do that!
