FL...I have a question for you if you don't mind?....I was wondering now that you've told your H about the A, etc...are you glad you told him or do you wish you would have just put it behind you and moved on with your marriage?....Also, do you think H would have rather not known now that it's out?
thanks

Gotcha!
Were you eating plenty of salads? If you were, then a real good remedy is to add flax seeds every morning. This usually doesn't last long, if at all, but the seeds really help and they are low in carbs. You can buy them at health food stores and just grind them up in a coffee grinder and put them in a shake. This is usually a very easy problem to overcome and then it resolves itself, thankfully.

FL, I workout on a regular basis and have found a twelve week program with results that seem magical. It takes very little time and can be done from your home. Take a look at the information at www.bodyforlife.com The before and after photos are real and I have my own to the validates the program works. No carb or calorie counting is involved. Eating healthy food and the right size portions coupled with the workout routine will do it. The book deals with the mindset of losing weight and what it takes to change. Many of the MB principles are similar to those found in the book. Your local Barnes & Noble or Walmart will have a copy. Twelve weeks to the thinner you that you desire. You will be amazed at just how easy it is. Really! Hope this helps. Titleist [ April 07, 2004, 11:07 AM: Message edited by: Titleist ]

melody, yes i was eating lots of salads, and i was eating acceptable veg this time, the first time i did not. i really thought i was doing it "better" this time, healthier. the first time i can't say i really followed the Atkins plan because i was not eating much veg. i just ate no carbs, lots of cheese, eggs, bacon, chicken. this time i was trying to do it better.
i will get myself some flax seeds!! thanks. any other words of wisdom would be very much appreciated.
truth be told, i am very excited about the idea of losing weight and looking healthier/sexier again. i just have to stop that voice inside my head that says "YOU CAN"T DO THIS!!". it is that voice that makes me freak out about this. but the fact is, that voice is WRONG!!!!!
dreamcatcher, look for new topic with your name. i am going to respond to you there instead. hope that is ok.

FL, I have scads of low carb recipes and menu items for when you are ready to start. It really is so easy when you just know what to eat. And the thing I love about low carb is that you can eat more calories than conventional diets and lose more weight because of the metabolic advantage. Just let me know if/when you decide to do it and I can email you some links. My email is dana100@cablelynx.com.
I would also second Titleist's suggestion about Body for Life. I have done a similar workout routine for several years now but did it with the Atkins diet. [Atkins is much easier on my blood sugar levels and helped me lose weight faster]
Using the Body for Life principles, but working out to weightlifting tapes, I have a better shape than I had when I was 25. My body fat is 19.6%, that of a female athlete - it WAS 43% when I started. It really is an excellent program that would be worth your while to look at.

FL,
Please let me know what you think. I thought at first it's to good to be true. My wife and I did the program and it worked wonders for her as well.
I like the fact that you get to have "good" carbs. The carbs are necessary for the protein you eat to be absorbed into the muscle tissue. I would recommend you put away your scale for the first 4-6 weeks. The new addition of muscle will actually cause you to gain weight. Once the muscle is added it literally begins to feast on the fat. My wife's weight went up and she wanted to throw in the towel. That was until she found that her close didn't fit because they were to big. She never looked at the scale again and decided to let the mirror be the judge of her progress. Needless to say when she lost weight her libido went up, and that's good thing!
Let me know if I can help tailor the routine to your schedule and goals.

Hey FL -
Interesting - I too need to lose about 40 lbs, since 2 beast sized kids (10 lbs each) and a career as a p/t caterer. That said, I have lost about 20 the first months since dday - great diet!
My WH also has this as an important issue in our recovery. Yes, I think it is a bit selfish, but I do understand. He has lost a bit of hair since we met and I have not asked him to get plugs...
Mine is also a photog, and he is a very visual person. The OW was a tiny thing. I have never been tiny, neither has any other people in his previous life...guess it is a new thing he needs.
I am trying. I know it is healthy'er for ME. I am walking now that is is nice out again and lo-carbing.
If nothing else I will look good if this doesn't work the way I want (and him too he claims) and if things work out the way we are working twords, I will look and feel better in a healthy'er marriage.
Sucks huh? I know

I had started the Body for Life diet after my baby's birth - My WH was excited becasue he has been a Weighlifter since he was 14. I lost about 20lbs - but I guess it wasn't enough - He began training my "best friend" and she had been working out for yrs. After discovering the A - I lost another 50lbs!!! MY WH & I are now working out together in a gym & other men are looking at me(Helps the self esteem issues) and my WH said I look amazing - after 12yrs we are finally doing something together.
MY WH has stated before the A, that he wanted my to be around for a long time & working out, eating right would help keeping me here. When I found out about the A, I started working out hoping that if I had the"perfect" body (like I thought he tought about my "Friend")he would love me, but my heart was not into it. Now after, doing this together and seeing good changes in my body I realized that I was doing this for me and me alone. I finally have a "6-Pack" for abs and wore a bikini to the pool last week - Even other mothers asked what was i doing - my husband was so proud of me. He said the one good thing that came out of the A - I was in the best shape of my life. My MIL told me he went on for about 15 minutes about my appearance. I guess being "pleasantly plumb" bothered him a bit!!

Am I the only one that sees a problem with FL's H demanding her to do something as huge as losing weight and saying that he will not help her AT ALL?

hey luvbird, thanks for the thought..
Yes he wants me to do this on my own, BUT, last night we rode stationary bikes together and talked about making a habit out of it.
